Car will start and work fine, when the car is
Does your car just not turn on right after you get down driving or do you allow it to cool first before you drive it again. if it's the latter of the 2 then i have a solution for you.
If your car fails to start until after it has cooled down, the three items to check are the RPM SENSOR, RADIO SUPPRESSION RELAY, and fuel injection relay solder points. *Try the fuel injection relay.
Find the relay in your center console relay bank and tap it to see if
this restores fuel flow (starting immediately). When you're cranking the engine and it
won't start, is the tachometer needle moving a little? If not, as mine
didn't, I believe you want to check into the RPM sensor.
Check the RPM sensor located on the back of your engine, connected to
the bell housing. The wire runs up the back of the engine compartment
towards the drivers side. Look for the part number on the wire and
check if the part number ends with 399. This rpm sensor has a heat
related problem: common for it to cause a no- start but able to start a
little while later. Since I replaced mine for about 30$ I haven't had
the problem. The third common cause of no-hot-restart conditions is failure of the radio suppression relay.
This relay is usually mounted beneath the coolant expansion tank and
may be next to the identical coolant fan relay. You can often test it
by swapping leads with the coolant fan relay, but only if the latter is
working. This may not be the case in cooler regions where it is not
frequently used. Hopefully this will help you :)
No air from the vents,
not very good one to fix , somtimes cables that operate opening and closing of air vents bellow dash separate , and stop from opening , i think you will find most things under foot panels near passenger feet . and center consol near passenger feet . , you may need to take of those panels to see is you can visially see anything .
My volvo 740 non turbo car has resently failed to
the engine is either not getting fuel, or is not getting spark. with the ignition key in the "run" position, listen under the rear of the car (near the fuel tank) for the sound of the fuel pump. or, after cranking on the starter for a while, remove a spark plug and smell it. smells like gas? if so, the problem lies in the electrical area. if not, fuel is not getting to the engine.
The lights get dim on
it could be the altinator, you can take it to advance auto and they will checkit for ree, good luck
1992 volvo A/c shuts off at idle
- a 92 740 has a control module for a/c comp and fan control
- it is normally located above the glovebox.
- remove the glove box inner liner.
- locate control module (plastic box 6"x 4")
- unplug
- check electrical pins ,damaged?
- is there a knob on the outside of the box?
- this adjusts the cutoff rpm of the compressor if the engine gets close to a stall.
- hope this helps
Ignition wont turn over
what model make year ?
did it run after cap and rotor replaced ?
is it getting fuel
is there spark in plug wire ?
No speed, tachometer or fuel, temp gauge working
that is common on those, so it would not be a stretch if the used replacment had same problem. at the dealership we would find bad/broken solder joints on the cluster circuit board.get a jewlers loupe and scan the whole board, resolder anything that looks cracked. pay attention to joints that are dull [no shine] or have a mottled apearance.resolder all of those.
Break failure
assuming seats are manual op....usually the drivers seat is un affected...there is a stiff wire or bar that goes from one seat latch to the other...this is broken or unhooked...get a replacement at a junk yard...easy fix....hope this helps.....pappy

Keeps coming up as a error connection on two
hi i dont know where you live but just a quick heads up on OBD2, in the uk and europe OBD2 did not get put in vehicles untill 2001 as standard, so if you live in europe it will not work on your vehicle from 1992, this is possibly an EOBD type (European Onbored Diagnostice) that doe's anything in europe before 2001, if however you are from the USA Canada, or south america, this should work hope this has helped, if you could send me more information i might be able to point you in the right direction for what diagnostic system will work for you
GAS GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY AND THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON
I suspect either the sensor was not reconnected (or may have been damaged) when you put eveything back together or the float has sunk. Either way, you will have to do the job over to fix it.
