Theft system light comes car wont start
The theft light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hot wired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. Im trying to find a easy way to install a flywheel on a 1973 cadillac elderado
Unfortionitly this is a big heavy vehicle and transmission and the tranny has to come off to get at this
Are you sure that the problem isn't with the drive gear on the starting motor. That would be much easyer to fix seeing the flywheel is much harder then the bendex drive gear on the starter .
Its made to fail before the flywheel starts looseing teeth although you never know its a 73 no telling what has happened to it .
Its worth looking at though

Water leaking from the back passenger side of the block between engine and transmission
Unlikely it is emerging from the joint between the engine and transmission but probably emerging from somewhere nearby and appearing to come from there.
There is often one or more core plugs at the back of engine blocks and cylinder heads as well as along the side. These are the things Americans call freeze plugs that sometimes corrode through. It could be one of those and the one in the block is sometimes not quite entirely covered by the transmission so a leak there could appear to be from where you say.
Unless there is good visibility and strong light it is better exploring with a dry finger a little at a time until the true source is found. This is usually made easier by using a tool to pressurise the cooling system.

Where is location of starter on 89 Cadillac eldorado?
Follow the positive battery cable to the starter. It will be at the rear of the engine, down low, next to the junction of the engine and transmission. That is where the starter turns the engine over, by engaging the engine's flywheel-which is at the rear of the engine.
