Radio in "safe" mode

:-)

Sure, I understand.

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, and my question was, is the radio the original for this car, or was it installed later as a swap or replacement?

On my VW, safe will come up initially, then 1000, then a short time later, it will resume normal operation, after you turn it on the first time.

Do you have the original Owner Manual for the car? If so, the code number and how to enter the code is usually left in there (unless the original owner took it out.). There is a way to get a new code, but let's not go there just yet (after all "you just a girl" ). :~)

Hot water leaking under the

The hot water is may be coolant and may be leaking from the heatercore and causing windows to fog, another thing to check is to make sure the heater box drain is clear and also the rear firewall drains, if you open the hood and look to the rear where the battery is thatarea fills with water due to plugged drains at the bottom, theres a drain on each side and one under the battery but the only way to get this water hot would be if the water would enter the heater box which i kinda doubt, this sounds more like coolant. i would have the hoses checked to make sure its not a hose going to heatercore and causing the leak inside, if it is the heatercore then this is an expensive job, i just noticed the year, a 1994, this may be a heatercore leaking. have the system leak tested and the leak location will be clear. hope this helps.

My radiator fan is not

I think you are talking about the radiator fan for the coolant in first place and than about the heater fan (speed 1)? If yes than first thing is to get the relay in for the radiator fan as it will not cool your coolant liquid and will cause the engine to overheat, with the second one it is a faulty resistor inside the vent and that is why you don't have the first speed, unless the pollen filter is dirty and the first gear cannot actually **** enough air.
