Wont go in gears

First check transmission fluid. Assuming that it isn't low make sure it is not burnt or bad. It should be a pink to red color, if your not sure but a quart and compare colors. If you have to add make sure to use the proper type, that can be found in the owners manual. Assuming it isn't fluid do the following. Apply the parking/emergency brake. Chalk/block at least one of the rear wheels. If you have a proper jack(not the kind that came with the vehicle, those things can be dangerous) life the vehicle so the wheels are at least 6 or more inches of the ground. Provided you have jack stands, cement blacks, or anything else which can safely support the vehicle weight place them under neath either where the subframe bolts to the floor or under the frame by the control arms. SLOWLY lower the vehicle onto jackstands or blocks. Make sure you have at least 6 to 12 inches clearance between the bottom of the tires and the floor. Although you don't have to remove the front wheels it is a good idea for simple safety reasons. In doing this you lesson your changes of getting injured by spinning wheels. Next start the vehicle. Have a helper move the gear selector through Park Reverse Neutral and Drive. If you look under neath the air intake(snorkell) you'll notice a wiring harness and rod/linkage. That linkage is attached to a lever. Watch for movement. If there is no movement then somewhere between the shift handle at the steering column and the sensor it is broken or disconnected. If there is movement then chances are it's an issue internal to the transmission. Keep in mind the sensor even if bad will not prevent a vehicle from at least engaging in reverse or drive. It will however affect shifting, and various power options from working while the vehicle is running. This is only some simple basic checks, there is the possibility of torque converter failure or the transaxle has failed outright. In either of those cases it will probably involve the removal and rebuild of the transaxle.

I want to remove rubber on top of back bumper. I would like to replace my back up sensors

Hi Bruce: First off, I don't have specific experience with your make and model, but I have had the occasion to replace the part you describe on a Dodge pickup. On that vehicle, the rubber "tread" was attached to the bumper by protruding wedge pins that were inserted in holes in the bumper. My suggestion is to either lie down under the bumper with a flashlight, or use a mirror and flashlight to look at the underside of the top of the bumper to see if the method of attachment can be determined. If it is pins, and you can get at them, a squeeze with pliers will usually release them. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Is there a code to reset my radio/cd player in my 2006 mercury monterey mini van?

What are you trying to reset? Just the clock or all the selected stations? You can try disconnecting radio's fuse or the ground wire to the vans battery for a few minutes.
