2005 Mercury Monterey van - fuse location
Hello Kevin I hope I can help you find this fuse and fix this for you.The fuse location number should be 63 it should be a 30 amp fuse.I don't know if your manual will show you this location but I do hope it does. But if not I'll do my best to try and help you find it.In your fuse box look about middle ways in it.I hope you see a line of the standard small size plug-in fuse's a row or 4, just below those should be a row of 2, the row of 2 is what your looking for fuse number 63 is the one on the left if your looking straight at the fuse box, or the one on the driver,s side it should have 30 amp on it.Check that fuse or just replace it.I hope that was helpful Tim
Changed battery. key fob & overhead controls will not open any doors.
I think you may have contact a mercury dealers service dept to ask if the key has a procedure to restore information in the ram/rom . The ICs in somee key fobs lose some of the data when the current supplied by a cell/battery is absent, you may have lost some of that data or the key may have been damaged. An auto locksmith may also be able to advise further on this matter
My van will not go into reverse
There may be a solenoid which activates/energezies to engage the reverese. I just honestly can't remember if this transmission has such a solenoid or not. If it does they are typically fairly easy to get at and change. Look for wiring on the side of the transmission and check for looseness.
Also, as crazy as it sounds if the fluid is bad that can cause all kinds of crazy stuff to happen or not work right.
There is also a chance the Torque converter is starting to go, there are other signs of a bad Torque converter as well, but this can be one as well.
The LED Dash Control Center on my 2005 Mercury
when the headlights or parking lights are on,the readouts will automatically dim to compensate for night driving. that aside, the dimmer switch is could be bad or the wiring has become loose or disconnected or the connector on the readout is loose or has become disconnected. my odometer was randomly going on and off. and tured out to be a loose connector
Where is the outside air temperature sensor
Passenger side, just in front of the radiator and recessed behind the bumper under neath the metal brace in front of the A/C condensor near the bottom of the front end. It's nearly impossible to see without bending down or laying on the ground. But if you carefully move your hand along the metal brace you will feel it near the passenger side fog lamp. Pretty easy to change.

Park assist malfunction
I am fighting this issue as well.
Usually it happens in cooler to cold weather.
I suspect either the control module in rear quarter panel or the connector is corroded or losing contact.
The modules are fairly easy to get at by pulling of the covers in back.
I had to deal with a power door sliding issue a year or two back and the modules are pretty straight forward to remove.
