Did you replaced the O2 sensors too.The O2 sensors are before and after catalytic converter. if an oxygen sensor goes bad, then your car will not pass smog, and have a very high emissions reading. The reason for this, is the oxygen sensor is responsible for reading how much oxygen to fuel there is in the exhaust, to determine if your car is running too rich, or too lean, and helps the ECU adjust properly. If the exhaust gas is determined to be too lean, your car would run too hot, and melt engine parts such as pistons and valves. If it's too rich, you are burning too much gas, so you could foul your spark plugs, and cause your car to have bad emissions. The rear o2 sensor, behind the catalytic converter, is simply responsible to ensure the catalytic converter is working, and could throw a check engine light if it is broken. ------------ If you have already replaced the O2 oxygen sensor then try cleaning the oxygen sensor with carburator cleaner.If the car is driven in too rich condition for long time then it can damage the catalytic converter too. --------- And for car not going in overdrive mode,the transmission has solenoids for the forward gears. Your solenoid for the overdrive may be at fault or the valve body piston is sticking shut.It has to be checked. There are two common problems that cause this transmission to not shift into overdrive if the check engine light is on or there is a code stored in the system it will go into default and not allow overdrive to occur. The other possibility is if the engine coolant is not reaching normal operating temperature it will keep if from shifting into overdrive for emissions reasons. If you can get to a nearby auto part stores such as AutoZone they do free engine code reads. It would be good to know to make sure that there's nothing set in the computer as far as engine codes is concerned. The only other possibility would be an issue in while the solenoids in the transmission but this is not very likely and is not very common.

yes but always chec basics 1st like a weak batt or loose cables--a failin fuel pump or pressure reg--bad coil packs or dist--a fuse may hav blown or fuel is no good

the fuel tank have an check ball in filler tube, maybe is clogged, i think go to a workshop to check

it won't hurt to drive it, as a matter of fact on dry pavement it never engages, but it will cause wheel slip in rain or snow, you don't need it but its nice to have

The battery is a known problem in the earlier models. How long have you had the battery in the vehicle? If it is the original...it time for a new one.

This vehicle has a problem with operating solonoids which are inside the gearbox and computer controlled,seek advice of a auto specialist because the parts may be available to repair it ,if too expensive then look for a gearbox in the scrapyard from an accident damaged vehicle ,but if its a 93 model then it may be time to trade it in whilst it is still running .Some vehicle manufacturers do not sell the parts to rebuild a gearbox so its a factory exchange unit only iam afraid which is no doubt more than the vehicle is worth .Dont think a tranny flush would work because i have never got any results to speak off from this so called quick solution ,a lot of garages just use this as a way to make a quick profit from people ignorant of cars.Or find a manual version in the scrapyard and fit the manual box

Hi, there will be diodes in the generator that are letting the power from the battery drain away through the parked times when not in use. to prove it charge the battery- then disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, connect 24 hours later and see if the battery as kept it charge, if so - fit new alternator, good luck.
