1995 Ford Contour - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have a 1995 ford contour SE 5 speed. it is running hot almost red lining.no fluids are leaking, no antifreeze smell inside, windows do not fog up when heat is on but heat is blowing cold air, fans a
Could be a thermostat problem, or potentially a blown head gasket. if you take the oil cap off and check under neath the cap (inside of cap) if there is sludge buildup i would get the gasket checked. Also try check in the radiator, if it looks like there is gunk or **** in the radiator it may be just enough to block the thermostat sensor. Usually if its a thermostat problem the temperature dial doesnt move. Firstly would check for head gasket, thermostat and note how fast it heats up, when does it overheat (on idle, driving on highway, driving round town, etc)

1995 Ford Contour skips upon acceleration
It could be a vacuum leak---Check rubbers, hoses and seals at the intake manifold, the throttle-body or carburetor, etc check everywhere, because you said the car was a 2005.... rubbers and seals can get brittle over time... Ive had this issue once and also in another car a worn distributor caused this very problem but it was more random and occurred most often when the car was hot and driven hard...it got worse over time and most mechanics did not get it right,... and only after taking it from one mechanic to another... I found someone who recognized the problem straight away and fixed it( replaced the distributor) and never had the problem since...

1995 ford contour wont start when its cold outside
Check the choke buterfly in carby is closed when cold (the butterfly at the top of the carby) if not find out why it may be cable problem or just need a little spray with WD40 where the rod the butterfly is mounted to goes through the carby.

1995 ford contour not firing, wont start
Since you say you are not getting fire, have you actually checked for spark at the plugs ?If so and you have no spark, you would need to check for voltage and a ground signal at the coil next.

Wont start
Sounds like a wiring problem at the gas tank. I would check for voltage and ground for the fuel pump and the sending unit for the gauge.

The car stalls at idle and when stopping.
Sounds to me like an O2 sensor, i had a similar problem with my Ford Probe GT. Luckily my car was a 5 speed so i just kept my foot on the gas a bit and put my car into neutral as i was slowing down or coming to a stop. If you're car is automatic I would not suggest doing neutral drops.. you'll cause more damage.

Not getting spark out to of spark plugs 1995ford contour
What have you done to come to the conclustion that you have no spark . Imean have you taken plugs out and grounded them to the block while cranking the engine over more then one to eliminate the chance you have a bad plug . If so then i would look at the electronic ignition first if that is working you need to look at the coil-s or coil packs witch ever you have . You have supplyed limited information on the vehicle

Can you tell me why I dont have no power to the fuel pump on a 1995 ford contour 2.5L duratec? New fuel pump replaced and new fuel pump relay
Have you checked the fuel cutoff switch?

GENERAL INFORMATION
This switch shuts off the fuel pump in the event of a collision. Once the switch has been tripped, it must be reset manually in order to start the engine.
The inertia switch is located on the driver's side of the vehicle behind the kick panel near the driver's feet.
RESETTING THE SWITCH
See Figure 1
Fig. Fig. 1: The inertia switch reset button is located on the top of the switch
- Turn the ignition switch OFF .
- Ensure that there is no fuel leaking in the engine compartment, along any of the lines or at the tank. There should be no odor of fuel as well.
- If no leakage and/or odor is apparent, reset the switch by pushing the reset button on the top of the switch.
- Cycle the ignition switch from the ON to OFF positions several times, allowing five seconds at each position, to build fuel pressure within the system.
- Again, check the fuel system for leaks. There should be no odor of fuel as well.
- If there is no leakage and/or odor of fuel, it is safe to operate the vehicle. However, it is recommended that the entire system be checked by a professional, especially if the vehicle was in an accident severe enough to trip the inertia switch.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the driver's side kick panel.
- Unplug the connector on the inertia switch.
- Remove the retaining bolts and remove the switch.
To install:
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
