My 1988 bronco 351w efi has spark but wont start, why?

Check fuel pump pressure. First shoot a little starter fluid into the throttle body to see if it runs. If it does, fuel delivery problem.

Can the map sensor be cleaned?????

Map sensors can't be cleaned. When a Map sensor fails, it usually causes the injectors to dump way too much fuel for the altitude and the catalytic converter gets overheated. The sensor reads the amount of vacuum present in the engine and adjusts the amount of fuel the engine needs to run as the altitude changes.

I have an 88 bronco 5.8l . starts good runs good for about 5 min. Then it starts to cut out (rolling idle)-missing. after about 12 min it smooths out.replaced distributor, air temp sensor, ect sensor.

I have no idea about OBD... evolution (Jumped from '75 Ranchero to 2004 Navigator...) but I had similar troubles due to cold start valve... Whatever FI emulates a choke... I'm assuming you have fuel injection.... ROCKAUTO shows both Carby & Fuel Injection options... but your symptoms are pointing to FI... (see below). Check out your diagnostic capabilities to see if you have any TROUBLE CODES... then start with the cold start (air?) valve ... then onto the injectors themselves (if equipped) ((Just sounds VERY FAMILIAR)).. Also try looking up your TSB (tech service bulletins) on BBB Industries site (Free: registration required) BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1988,bronco,5.8l+351cid+v8,1105928,fuel+&+air

1986 Ford Bronco, 302 EFI. Surges in idle. Speeds up then slows down.

Probably a loose or missing vacuum hose. Check the vacuum diagram under the hood and look for loose or cracked hoses.

88fordbroncoxltstuckin4wdlow

I believe your Bronco has a 4x4 actuator which often fails. Not a cheap part, but pretty easy to replace. Buy a parts store shop manual and it should show how to fix this. Might also check wiring to the unit and all fuses.

Where is fuel filter on 1988 ford bronco?

I believe you will find your fuel filter on the driver side frame rail. There is also a little device that in the event of a roll over cuts off the power to the fuel pump. It is usually located in the passenger side kick panel of most Ford's. There is a button on it. If it is popped out you need to press it in to reset it. It is similar to a GFI. Ground fault interrupt circuit.

Try to turn the wheel slightly while turning the key. Also try to jiggle the shifter. The steering wheel lock usually jams against ignition.

Can put into gear when running but when i release clutch and give gas truck dont move but i haer a low clunk sound, could it be my pressure plate or gears in my transmission?

if you can put it into gear release the clutch , no movement its more than likely the clutch assembly broken spring in the pressure plate , have you tried all gears also reverse if it goes into all gears no movement or if the sound get worse or goes away in different gear then I would say input shaft bearing , my bet is clutch assembly

I've recently purchased an 88 ford bronco with a 5.0 that had been sitting in a repo yard for about a year. after replacing a fuel pump and filter i was able to get it running. it idles well and s

The first thing I would check is the park brakes coming fully off when released. If the units are rusted and stiff you will have dragging brakes which will give the symptoms you describe. After all it has been sitting for a year with the park brake on.
