Fuel not getting to the

You should be able to hear the fuel pump run for about 3 to 5 seconds when the ignition is placed in the run position. To properly test the fuel pump other than just hearing it run you'll need to do a pressure test at the fuel rail assembly.

With that kind of mileage - I'd start with a good healthy tune up plugs, wires, etc... replace filters air, and especially FUEL filter then run a good fuel cleaner through it. The only chronic things about 351w is valves, if burned they will give "gutless" symptoms. They are notorious "carbon hogs" - joke between Ford mechanics, "if they could make intake runners any squarer they would"

The bearing is probably sticking somewhere along the stub axle. May need a bit more pressure.

Have a 90 f-250

Carburetta is fouled. Run fine on choke - rich mixture. As it warms up and choke pulls off, its starving for gas.
First try adding fuel system cleaner to the gas tank. Do NOT go overboard. No more than double the recommended mix ratio.
The alternative is to remove the carb, open the bowl and spray out the jets and venturi with carb cleaner.

Its possible you may help it by removing the air filter and spraying every orifice you find on top of the carb. With carb cleaner. Be very carefull not to flood, pool carb cleaner in intake as this is not healthy for engine either. You can do this with engine running, so as not to pool, but slowly is best, both in engine speed and volume of carb cleaner.

Try replacing the solinoide, and make sure ALL connections are clean and making good contact. Also you should have the strater amperage draw and the charging system tested.

5.8 winsdor f250 1990 runs

  • Well, Petrol burns real dirty and your vehicle should really be converted to use it. It ran fine on gas because the Octane combined with the cleanness of gas is what your vehicle is suppose to use. It sounds like it's misfiring because the Petrol just does not fire well in a gas engine. Once the Petrol is used up stick with gas for your vehicle. You may need to switch the plugs by the time the tank is empty of Petrol. You won't know until you run a little gas in the vehicle. If it is still acting up then change the plugs. Either way stay away from the Petrol.

Regards, Tony

Clean battery cables and maybe have starter tested. Starters as they age drag and draw more amps. (If that was what you were ref to hard starting) You might do a complete tune up - plugs, wits all filters and fluids & run a good fuel system cleaner through it. That would give you a good "ground zero" starting point.

1990 f250 5.0 dual tank

Backfiring is not going to have anything to do with the level of fuel in the tank. You most likely have burned valves or broken valve springs in your engine. I would do a compression test.

It seems as though he has made an adjustment on the bands. I would recommend that you take it to someone who knows how to work on a transmission. If you don't then you are goning to soon be buying another one. The e4od is a good transmission, but it can only take so much before it gives.

Hello...I have a 1990 Ford

I would probaly agree, these are very reliable engines. Most of the time a bad wrist pin wull be noisy at load and higher rpms, not at idle in gear.Cracked flywheel is possible , loose converter bolts is unlikely since ford uses a crimped bolt. These engines sometimes will build up carbon on top of the piston and usually running a can of SEA FOAM through the intake will take care of it.The carbon can cause a slight knock and may sound like a wrist pin or rod bearing.Good luck!

Hard starting, turns over fine it just cranks alot

Does it hard start when warm or only when cold? could very possibly be a fuel pressure problem, like fuel pressure regulator. Also could be cold start injector.
Thanks,
Lee

Should be able to as long as you put a pilot bearing in the crank. You might have to have your driveshaft lengthed at the automatics are longer and you will probably have to relocate the rear crossmember. Maybe drill some frame holes. Shouldn't be too much trouble.
