When tranny try to shift into 3th gear(no pull power),it slips 1,2 and reverse works OK.

Time to have transmission overhauled. Call James at 1-972-467-3702 in Midlotheon Texas if it's handy. Does great work at his shop.

2006 F150. When engaging the 4 wheel drive, no lights on the dash and 4 wheel drive does not engage. What should I check?

There is a 4wd actuator mounted to the transfer case. Have the motor tested. Sometimes the motor freezes up. If it don't switch over to 4wd, the light won't switch either. Also, make sure the plug on the motor didn't fall off or corrode.

Timing belt installation diagram

You won't find one. The 2006 Ford F-150 has 4 engine options....all have timing chains. I don't think Ford EVER put a timing belt in any of their F-Series pickups.

4 wheel drive works when it wants to on aF150 2006

There are several things that can cause this. Without further info, I.e. Manual locking hubs or automatic hubs. I am going to assume it is an automatic hub system. 1 pv solenoid could be sticking. 2 vacuum leak in the pv hubs (actuator(s)) 3 vacuum leak in the plastic vacuum tubing to pv hubs and sol. there is also a shift motor that could be faulty or the wiring or connectors to them. I would start with a visual inspection of the vac hoses, and make sure there is not a loose hose or kinks, or crack. also check all the connections at shift motor for water ingress or corrosion/poor connections. I would need more info for this veh.

How to get my truck to start, battery was weak but even when boasted won't start ,but turns over?

If you aren't getting fuel to the injectors you may have a clogged fuel filter. If you haven't changed the filter at least once a year it may be the fault. It can restrict the fuel flow gradually until it just won't flow anymore. Engines start harder in the cold so as it is, but this can make it worse. I hope this helps some.

Towing an F-150 behind a U-haul Truck

If you're using a tow bar, make sure that the driveline(s) are disconnected and removed or tied up. If you don't disconnect the driveline(s) you really run a huge risk of transmission damage whether it's auto or manual.

Where does the back cable go in f150 2006

Good one, jeffmay. Are we talking about the rear emergency brake cable, or what? When you say "cable" we think of a mechanical cable inside a housing- similar to a small tube, or a big line like a fuel line that is home for a cable to pull inside it. Please clarify your question. Thank you.

I recently had the engine rebuilt in my 2006 F-150. My brake/ABS fuse now blow every 5-7 days.

I know its a long shot but is it possible you have trapped or cut the wiring harness during the work and its shorting out on the frame etc. Go back through the work carefully.

2006 ford f150 sunroof mechanism won't close. One side will close but one side sticks partway closed

At least you have a truck. Less parts to remove. The headliner has to come down. replace the regulator. Is comes with the motor. Most likely it is a plastic piece that has broken. Not the cable. If you want the roof to open, fix it. If not get it closed and seal it up.

How do you remove the fan switch on a 2006 Ford

My 2001 may be similar. Key off or negative battery terminal OFF. Remove the bezel surrounding the cluster in e center y wrapping some electrical tape around a flat screwdriver so you don't mark up anything. Pry gently all around the bezel to pull it up off the panel. Go all the way around and be patient. There should be 4 small hex-head screws holding the switch panel down. (Maybe a 7 or 8 mm) Remove them and gently pull the panel out. Unplug the switch, and remove it from the panel. Reinstall in reverse order.

run the fault codes to check which sensor is switched off. It could be a crank position sensor but it could also be a cam shaft position sensor or immobiliser that is non operational.
