Is the check engine light on ? Sounds like the idle speed control is faulty.

Could be the key switch. Have you checked for power and ground at the blower motor and the fan switch ?

I believe if the throttle position sensor signal does not match the signal from some other (forget which) the computer will not allow converter lock up. Fix problem with TPS first.

You should have purchased the ECM and wiring harness with your donor engine. Without the stock parts, your best bet is to purchase an after market stand alone control system and harness. I know this is not what you want to hear, but you must either have the correct computer, or go the after market route.

There are no technical service bulletins showing specific problems with that truck. Could be any number of reasons. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Check your engine oil and smell it. If it smells like fuel, you most likely have a spark problem. If it does not smell like fuel, then find the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail and remove the cap. Next depress the pin in the center to see if fuel sprays out (wear eye protection and keep flames away). If fuel does not come out, make sure you have fuel in your tank 1st. 2nd, have someone turn the key to on position while you listen for fuel pump to turn on in the tank. It should come on for a few seconds then off. If you do not hear the fuel pump run, check the wiring and fuses. If this does not help then more in depth troubleshooting and diagnostics are required to pin point the specific problem. The cam gear mark should be at 6 and the crank gear mark should be at 12 so they meet each other.

Check for a frayed wire touching metal and grounding out. The gauge works on resistance and it registering full indicates a short to ground. Either that or your gauge itself is bad.
