The easiest way to relieve the fuel pressure is to start your engine and pull the Fuel Pump Relay - car should die. Now there is no fuel pressure. Turn the key to the off position and change out the fuel filter. Once the filter is changed, put the relay back in and prime the system - turn the key on (don't start) for a few seconds. Turn off, turn key on for a few seconds then start the car. Check for leaks by filter. Easy peasy. Hope this was helpful :-) -Scott

Your local shop should do this for free. If not drive to the next one until you find one . If I read correctly you want to make your engine light come on? A good way to do this is by taking your gas cap off. this may not work.

Can you pull any errors off the ECU? Do you have the standard dash installed? My Alfa will not change up from second if my dash is not installed.

try stepping on the brake if this will not work then the servo went bad and needs to be replaced

three things.. fuel pump is bad or weak, you should run about 35 to 50 pounds of pressure.. fuel filter clogged(hope it's not this one, it's in the tank.. or replace your plug wires.

You need to adjust shifter cable.If there is no adjuster on it you need to replace the cable.

this maybe a fuel problem check fuel filter. also clean maf sensor, (manifold air flow). YOU CAN GO TO ANY AUTO PARTS STORE AND BUY A CAN OF MAF SENSOR SPRAY. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON CAN CAREFULLY. as long as you have the spray clean iat sensor, (Intake air temperature) it is in big hose from air filter to throttle body. it just pulls out from hose. it would not hurt to make sure the plugs are ok. because these two sensors have a lot to do with the load on engine as well as the map sensor.

I believe you should get the ignition coils checked or stop at local auto parts store for a Chilton or Haynes manual for your car (anywhere from $20 and up) to check them yourself. Keep in mind this is part of the electrical system of the car so use caution if you plan to do this yourself.

i would check the ignition switch, because if no power from switch, car will not start!!

check head gasket look in radiator when cold,see if the water bubbles when cranking.
