Is there a restriction in the exhaust system ?How about a restriction in the air flow thru the radiator ?How long can you drive it before it overheats, and does it boil over ?

sure its not running on autochoke ,sounds like it to but if you have done a nice job on the engine then you may need to adjust the mixture on idle which for the inspection must be less than 2% it will idle well if this higher as its burning more fuel on idle but this is not allowed for the test ,once it leaves the test station ? This has one of them fish type carbs and havent done one for many a year but the mixture idle is on the base of the carb and they normally have a spring on the screw shank to hold them

On 1990 Mazda Truck B2200 2.2L FI 4cyl the Flasher is located in front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in relay bracket.

I've seen timing belts with alot of play in them rub on the cover, i don't know if your belt has ever been changed

you can turn down the idle at the throttle. have you checked to see if you have the choke on?

probably your evaporation cannister. Holds gas vapors until engine can use them. Is there a problem with the cannister?

i`ve never heard they are interchangeable, Are you sure its the head? i would inspect the #1 cylender a little further for a hair line crack
