I locked my keys in the car. How can I get a door

Depending on where you live you can call the police and they have the tools to open the doors. If you have AAA, they have a free lockout service. If not, you can get a coat hanger and fish it carefully between the door weatherstripping. If you have anti-theft lock knob covers you can pull one up. If not you have to go for the door latch or the power lock switch if you have that. Hope this helps and it's not raining!!

When i rev my car up the charging light comes on for a split seconde when my lights are on my turn signals dont work and some times the lights will go dim when that happens i got to charge battry or j

First charge your batery and re- install it in the car. Turn on the ignition and with a multin tester check for voltage at the battery. It should read between 12 and 13 Volts DC. Start the engine, accelerate up to 2500 rpm and measure voltage. It should read between 13.5 and 14.5 Volts DC. If the voltage at the battery is lower with the engine turned off, your batery might be bad. If the voltage with the engine running is not between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, your alternator is bad.

Where is neutral safety switch on 92 olds cutlass?

The neutral switch is not the issue. It wont even start if it was the switch, Check the fluid with the car on a level surface, It is is ok, check the link to the transmission from the shifter to see if it came off. If none of those work, it is time for a new transmission.

My 1988 oldsmobile is short on vacuum. what could be the promblem?

This can be simple to fix. Sounds like an Intake gasket leak or leak in EGR pot. Use something to block the throttle enough to keep the motor running. Then get an old spray bottle and fill it with water. With the engine running, go around the seams of the motor, the solenoids and vacuum fittings and spray water. When you find an area the draws in the water the RPM will change or the engine will stall. That indicates where the leak is.Sometimes valve timing will cause low Vacuum. If the crankshaft and camshaft are out of sync, there are problems. Not familar with your motor, if it has electronics to do same job.I was taught, that in setting the carb, you adjust the set screws open to maximum Vacuum, then turn in until vacuum drops no more than an inch off peak. That is suppose to be the optimum setting.

Loosing coolant underneath engine

Sounds like you have a collant leak from your radiator or from your lower radiator hose. If you cannot identiy exactly where your leak is coming from take your vehicle to your local auto parts store and have your collant system pressure checked. This will help identify where the leak is coming from. These tests are very often free. Good luck.

Warped front brake rotors

Check that the width of rotor thickness hasn't been exeeded. If it has u ll need to get new rotors and new brake pads too. If its still ok, all u need is to take them to a good machine shop to be re-surfaced, u ll still need new brake pads too. The ones there could be bad already hence part of your problem.

I just replaced altnator, car ran fine for 3 days

You need to have the charging system tested.
The fact that the engine shuts down after a few minutes indicates that the alternator is not working. Once the engine is started, the alternator should provide sufficient electrical output to run everything in the vehicle except the starter. If the engine shuts down because of a lack of electrical power, you have an alternator problem; either internal or the wiring.

My heater fan is not

Check the resistor assembly, its located in the heater box under the hood at the rear of engine at the top. You will see 2 bolts holding a black panel with electrical connection at top. Remove and visually check (looks like a bunch of coiled wires) it will probably appear burnt. You should have power leaving this on the purple wire going to the fan motor, if not the resistor assembly is open.

Where is the heater core

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.
