Latch cable is broke to open the hood on my 1996
you'll have to lay under the car and very carefully try to reach up to the latch. try grabbing the cable, there should be at least a piece of it there, with a pair of pliers or vise grips and pull it. it should pop open for you.
'96 Delta 88, died when lowering window, one restart, dead now.
All I can suggest is to carefully check out the condition of all +12V power supply leads and ground connections, from the battery to the general power distribution bus at the fusebox.
Pay particular attention to battery terminal posts and any in line maxi power fuses/fusible links and associated connectors, terminals and connections.
Check you havent lost a ground connection between the battery, engine/transmission assy and the general body.
Also worth checking the alternator is working correctly, able to carry the normal running loads reliably. Battery terminal voltage should be approx 14 to 14.5V with engine running when headlights on, A/C blower motor running.
I assume the battery charge condition is ok when these problems occur.
Check electrical and physical condition of the actual Ignition/Accessory switch and associated steering column loom connectors.
Good Luck!
Ignition will turn but when
check to see that power is going in and out of switch. chances are the switch ic bad. an ignition switch handles about 50% of total power needs, for a vehicle. one major sign of a bad ignition switch is that dash lights do not come on. vehicle may crank but not start. no current to dash lights, fuel pump etc. also check the big fuse in fuse box for the ignition switch. have a good day !!
Where is the cradle frame in a 1996 oldsmobile 88
You may be referring to the engine cradle mount. We were just told ours was bad. Upon my own inspection, the 4 bushings/washers/bolts parts are worn/missing. If you look just behind front wheels, you will see those bushings plainly.
My 1996 oldsmobile 88 has
Hello there good man or woman
Lets start off like this there is 50 different things that can cause these issues but will start with the simple things in a list. So here it goes
1. bad spark plugs (carbon fouled, fuel fouled, oil fouled, heat glazed, or just worn out rounded electrode's )
2. spark plug wires (there is no simple way to check this but there cheap and easy to try)
3. distributor cap & igniton rotor (or coil pack if so equipped) could be corroded carbon glazed heat glazed again thought both rotor button and distributor cap are cheap and easy to change. If it is a coil cheap to and just as easy on both this is were plug wires connet to on the oppsite end of spark plugs.
4. coil pick up (this sits underneath distributor cap and rotor and is cheap and easy to fix aswell)
5. clogged air filter
6. bad pcv valve
7. bad egr valve
8. bad fuel pressure regulator
9.bad fuel pump or clogged strainer
10. vaccum line leaking or off
I know with all that being said may sound overwelming but most are easy to fix and cheap this is what i would so first do a good tune up this includes new spark plugs , plug wires, air filter , pcv valve, fuel filter distributor cap and rotor (or coil pack if so equipped ) .
That will most likley fix your problem
If it helps please leave 4 thumbs up and if it works a testomnial thanks
My car just dies while
could also just be a fuel filter. you can change that and see if that makes a difference. if you have a trusted mechanic, he can do a fuel pressure check to see if your pump is operating at the right pressures.
there are also many other components that could cause this problem.
Car wouldnt start ooutta nowhere,,
the first thing to do is to use penrating oil to lubricate the key barrel if the please replace the ignition swicth assemble, remove the steering column cover by a metal screw then remove the cover and remove the screw from the cylinder barrel remove the ignition swicth assemble then replace with a new one
I have a 1996 olds
try putting the old one back in and leave the code reader alone as they do not always read the right codes
