1991 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

You have to take the inside door panel off on most cars. On some you just open the door and their is a clip in the door jamb. I am not sure if your car has this. The Oldsmobile (GM) has good locks though. Very difficult to pick. Purchase a complete lock set off of the internet that are keyed the same. Take off the inside panel. (a few screws and lots of clips) The window must be down to remove the panel from the window hole. You will have to reach up and grab the clip on the back of the lock and pull it towards the side. (prepare for knuckle cuts and bruises) The window must be up to remove the clip from the lock. There is a tool for doing this, but it is expensive. I usually use plyers. Good luck.
Some locks are held in place by a nut. (10mm) but I am pretty sure yours is a clip.

HelloThe engine
and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train
are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM
(Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this or other
drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of
the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the
fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for
instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these
fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special
tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the
appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)
