the oil filler is in the rocker cover so the covers have been off ant some time and there was no care as to which side went back on
idlers are only there to direct and take up drive belt slack so you will have no problems there
The electronics will be the same as it is the same engine
the dates refer to the build date of the vehicles and not the motor

2002 explorer window not working
To properly answer your question I would need to know if you're Ford Explorer is an early build or a late build. Early builds use a GEM Controlled System and the late builds use a ICM Controlled System to operate the power windows. Here is a link to how your power windowsoperate on your vehicle.

2002 ford exploder od light flashing,
check the shifter cable at the bracket on the transmission and see if it has broken at the sheath this will cause the cable to move the transmission shifter arm on the side of the transmission into neutral and thus you will be stuck there try to get someone to shift the gears while your watching the cable this is a very common problem and being that your truck is now 15-16 years old depending on build date on the door sticker this is most likely the cause of your problem here when you look at the cable grab the black sheath and try moving it back and forth if it does and you can see the cables heath is separated than you just hit the jackpot and go buy a new shifter cable good luck stephen
