Nissan terrano 2.7td. starting problem
Glow plugs are the answer to cold start problems.
Check that they work using a multimeter if you know how.
Otherwise connect a jumper cable from the hot terminal of the battery to the glow plug bus bar..be very careful not to ground the lead in any way to the head while doing this.
If the engine then starts easily with little smoke, the problem is with the relay or the timer of the glow plug circuit.
I think i have a cracked head on my nissan terrano
When you had the head gasket done, did you find out what caused the overheating in the first place?
Did you replace the thermostat with a genuine Nissan one..they are not cheap but they work well?
Did you have the radiator taken out, the top and bottom tanks taken off and the radiator rodded through to make sure there was total efficiency of the radiator?
have you checked that the water pump is working, and that the thermostatic fan hub is reacting correctly to heat, and actually working when the engine gets hot?
have you had the whole cooling system put under pressure and left overnight to see if there are leaks anywhere?
Do you have any white sickly sweet vapors coming from the tailpipe on startup?
Immobiliser wont disconnect
If you are not a thief, you wouldn't want to bypass the immobilizes... And sure as hell your insurance company doesn't want you to do that either.
so if the immobilizes is being a pain, disconnect the vehicle battery leads and touch them together for 20 seconds. This drains all the electricity out of the ECUs including the immobilized.
reconnect the battery leads correctly and try the system again....
Nissan terrano faults
These vehicles are known to have problems with the earth straps leading from the engine and trans to the body/chassis of the vehicle. Take each strap off, clean each end thoroughly and the mounting points, check for continuity and integrity with a multimeter and replace, tightening well.
the sensors on the engine rely on these grounds to complete an electrical circuit. The straps are under constant motion in acceleration and deceleration, can break and interfere with the electrical signals.
engine dies, straps move, engine starts again etc.
Stiff gear changing
I presume this is a 5 speed manual transmission? Is it actually the gear lever that is stiff to work through the gear changes?
first thing to do is drain and refill the gearbox with new oil.
while you are under there, check that the linkages are not rusted or crudded up. If so, free them up and lubricate them well.
Down in compession in 1 cylinder
Take it to a mechanic to have the cylinder check by a leak down test to find out whether it is a head gasket, a valve, or the rings which are leaking. Go from there.....
Nissan mistral auto 1998 losing power and sometimes stalls have to push red pin on gear shift lever to start.
The red pin on the gearshift lever is to allow selection of neutral in an emergency when the key is not in the ignition, because there is an interlock between the gearshift lever and the brake pedal. When you start the car normally you will hear the click of a relay when you stand on the brake to select any gear.
It sounds like there is a problem with the alignment of the lockout switch either on the gear lever or the switch or relay connected to the brake circuit.
get the codes read on the computer to give you some indication. I can't see how this has anything to do with the losing of power.
these vehicles have a reputation for problems with the eart straps from the engine, trans etc to the chassis. Remove and clean theses connection straps at both ends, and check their continuity with a meter, as sometimes they can break in the middle under the insulation from the vibration and movement of the components under braking and acceleration. Because the ECU depends on good electrical signals, and disturbance of the earth distorts the signal received.....
Location maf sensor
Trace the intake from the filter toward the engine. There should be a black object with electrical wires coming out of it before the intake reaches the turbo. Now you have found it, what are you going to do with it?
the first thing to try if you suspect problems is clean it thoroughly but carefully. See multitudes of YouTube videos on what to do.
after cleaning, disconnect both leads off the main battery and then touch them together for 20 seconds. This completely discharges all electricity from the ECUs.
connect the battery again, start the motor and let the ECU learn where idle is, then drive it as normal.
Any further problems get the trouble codes on the computer scanned.
How to disable abs light
I hope you are not serious. If you are, please send me an updated spreadsheet of where and when you will be driving on a public road so I can stay home and out of your way. When you crash the least you will be liable for is reckless driving, the most: probably will be reckless driving causing death.Fix the ABS...
Nissan terrano owners club
At a wreckers/parts dealers/eBay/ or similar. Depending on what is broken in your mechanism it may be possible to use a more commonly available Pareto repair the meh aims, e.g. The actual motors are quite common on other Nissan vehicles. Just watch that you get a right hand side motor..they are different to the left hand side ones! Check the model numbers on the casing.....
Nissan Terrano2 where is the rear window washer resurvoir located.
Unless someone has mucked about with it, you should find that the. Main reservoir under the bonnet feeds both the front and rear washers via a valve arrangement, so that one washer motor pump does both ends of the vehicle. Try to take the main reservoir out and clean it, check the output lines, follow them to the valve, use a buddy to check it's operation while you operate the switches. Sometimes the valve sticks, or the line to the rear washers comes off inside the rear panel, or the jets block. Follow the flow logically until you find the fault.
Nissan oil capacity
With or without a filter? Have you lost the dipstick? Fill it to the full mark, about 6 liters without filter, plus 1 litre to fill the oil filter. Run engine then check levels again. Try not to overfill the sump.
