What does "Reduced Power, Traction Fault" mean?

GM's power strategy will reduce power if it doesn't see proper charging. It does this to conserve battery power by shutting off non-essential electrical accessories. It can also mean that the traction control system is reducing engine power to avoid a skid. The traction control system gets input data from the wheel speed sensors to figure out if you're entering a skid or the wheels are locking up. One way to get you out of the skid is to reduce engine power or pump your ABS brakes. In your case you should get the trouble codes read. An ABS or traction code code could be a C, U or B code which can't be seen by a cheap scan tool or the tools they use at auto parts stores. GM had major problems with the ABS wheel speed sensors built into the wheel bearing hubs in these vehicles. The fix involved replacing the hub. So get the codes read by a pro scanner to find out which wheel sensor is setting the code. Then do the fix. Also, the P0128 is usually caused by a bad thermostat. Fix that first, because if the engine doesn't get up to operating temperature, the computer can limit some features. How do I find the fuse floor my door lock left side

Ok if the other windows go down then most likely you have either, 1. a bad motor 2. a bad window regulator which normally goes bad on the gm. But you will have to pull the door panel to get to the unit and check for power to the motor unplugged. You will be able to test power to it as you press the switch up or down being the current is reverse polarity as long as the key is on. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKDaoUtI-Mw

Reduced power message

Condition: Some customers may comment on an intermittent MIL/SES light Illuminated with a message center or an indicator that displays Reduced Engine Power. DTC P2138 - Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation may be set. The voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and APP sensor 2 exceeds a predetermined value for more than 2 seconds. Refer to DTC P2138 in SI for further diagnostics. Cause: On some vehicles, the IP to body harness connector, which carries the APP signal to the ECM/PCM, is located in the left hand kick panel area and if the kick panel is not sealed properly, water enters and causes a short in the APP circuits setting a P2138 code. Correction: Important: Do Not replace the accelerator pedal assembly. Locate the IP to body harness connector, which may be located in and around the left hand kick panel area. Check to see if there is a water leak into the area and repair as necessary.

My 2012 GMC Canyon has lost all power and will barely run, message on the dash flashes "reduced power" what does this mean

Reduced Power means that the PCM has detected an active failure in either the engine, transmission or brake system. You The PCM reduced power to help protect an affected system. You need to start by checking the oil level. How was the engine running and the transmission shifting? Do you have a code reader? The codes need to be retrieved. Please write back with the codes. Good Luck.

My GMC Canyon won't start with neew battery, Next Day or week it will not start?

When battery voltage is lost, sometimes there are some modules that may need to be reprogrammed? It could effect your security system, where applicable. I don't know model year? If it cranks good but won't start, make sure battery has a full charge. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. Also, check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Find out what your missing, if anything?

08 canyon, keeps blowing 15 amp ign fuse

What is engine liter size? Does it blow with key on or do you have to start it? Most of the circuits for that fuse goes to ignition coils, coil on plug ignition. Could be a faulty coil or shorted wiring circuit, somewhere? There was one other circuit, seems to go to control side of ac compressor relay, just for testing, you could unplug the relay, I doubt we'll get that lucky? With key off, unplug ignition coil do an ohms test on coil primary terminals, I'm not talking about the wiring harness connector, the coil, itself. Look for the readings to be close to the same, if one is way different than the others, that coil could be faulty? Any applicable trouble codes?

My blend door will not open.

Either your actuator got stuck or has gone bad. Or your divider on the dash could be the problem. I would take it off the actuator before messing with the dash. And see if you can spin by hand or turn it. Unlock it and hope it is just stuck. Noemally I remove them then in my hand I connect the conector and turn the key on and turn my divider on the dash and see if it turns after I manually make it turn. If it works cool it could have been stuck. Good luck. 23732966-5oj0shduqnd3nognpvizeq0h-3-0.jpg
