Red warning light on dashboard for steering lock.

It sounds like your steering lock mechanism is faulty. You could try wiggling the wheel as you try to turn the key. The engine won't turn because it's a safety issue if the car will start and the steering is still locked if you accidentally move the car.....

This was a huge issue with BMW

I've got a BMW 1 series, it went into the garage for a new timer belt, the tensioner had snapped, when I got it back there is a ticking noise when first starting up and until the engine gets w

The timing belt is crucial. And a broken belt can cause bent valves and serious engine damage. Since you state that the belt tensioner was replaced, was the timing belt replaced as well? I assume you have a warranty, and I highly recommend you use it. A new noise coming from where a major repair was just completed is never a good sign.

E24 6 Series BMW horn is shorting

This happens a lot with older vehicles. Inside the steering column there is a contact for the horn that is held in a plastic piece that in time will break and cause the horn to malfunction. This is not a part you should tackle yourself as you would need specific to vehicle tools such as pullers to get to the bad part. Seek out a reputable mechanic shop, most any will know how to fix it. My car has been a bit chuggie over the last few

Those symptoms sound a lot like a cylinder misfire. This usually happens when one of the following things occur. Start checking in this order. To make your life easier (and to verify it is indeed a misfire, have the OBD system scanned by the dealer, reputable shop or auto parts store (AutoZone will sometimes do it for free) to find out which cylinder(s) are having issue.1. You have a fouled spark plug, remove and replace2. You have a bad ignition coil, remove, replace3. You have a cracked engine block, or leaking head gasket, pressure test each cylinder to determine.4. There is an issue with some component in the exhaust gas calibrarion (MAF, O2 sensor). A computer diagnostic will tell you which component.

What's your problem? Right front seat back release is loose and needs to be secured

Best bet is to take to an automotive upholstery shop so they can remove the seat cover to gain access. There is a special tool to remove the "hog rings" that keep the cover in place. Most likely the cable has stretched out and will need to be replaced.
