Scotsman DCE33 15" Legacy Under-Counter Ice Machine. Reservoir overflowing during initial turn on and harvest cycle?
Question edited for full 'make model (what it is)' and spelling of 'reservoir'.
Matt Solves his own issue, well done and thanks for coming back with the answer.
UPDATE (since I cant figure out how to answer my own question):
Figured out that it was just a faulty pressure sensor. I believe it got water in it which was disrupting its function... I took the pressure sensor apart and reassembled it and now it can keep up with the drainage out of the reservoir.
Interesting note, which I hadn't realized before, the hose from the reservoir drains much faster than the bin... the bin has small holes that lead to the drain whereas the reservoir tube can have good throughput.

Cme256as1h warm water and want make ice
- Setup and Installation:
- Ensure the ice machine is properly installed and connected to a water supply and electricity.
- Check that the machine is level to allow for proper ice production.
- Water Supply:
- Ensure that the water supply is providing clean and potable water.
- The water temperature entering the ice machine should ideally be around 50°F (10°C) for optimal ice production.
- Machine Operation:
- Turn on the ice machine according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Wait for the machine to start its ice-making cycle. This typically takes some time after the initial setup or after the machine has been cleaned.
- Harvesting Ice:
- Once the ice is made, the machine will enter the harvest cycle where it pushes the ice into the storage bin.
- Wait for the ice machine to complete the harvest cycle and check the ice bin for the availability of ice.
- Maintenance:
- Regularly clean and sanitize the ice machine as per the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure the quality and safety of the ice.
- Keep the condenser and air filters clean to maintain the efficiency of the machine.
- Troubleshooting:
- If the machine is not producing ice, consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for troubleshooting assistance.
Remember, specific instructions can vary depending on the model and make of the ice machine. Always refer to the user manual provided by the manufacturer for detailed and accurate instructions tailored to your specific model (CME256AS-1H in this case).
I have a scotsman prodigy mv1006 it trips the breaker when the compressor trys to start up.
Tripping the breaker when the compressor tries to start up in your Scotsman Prodigy MV1006 could indicate an electrical overload. It might be due to a faulty compressor, a problem with the wiring, or issues with the breaker itself. It's recommended to have a professional technician inspect and diagnose the problem to ensure safety and proper functioning of the ice machine.
Scotsman C0322 Ice Machine not dumping ice. Error code 2
There are a couple of reasons I can think of. One is that the water is running away for some reason and being replaced with ambient mains water.. The other possibility is that the unit is marginally low on refrigerant gas. Another though is that the condenser fins are blocked, this causes general overheating of the compressor and the gas temperature in general.
It is a commercial machine and should be professionally serviced at least every 12 months. At my last position, all of ours were serviced every 6 months under contract to keep them in tip top condition. The environment was airport business class lounges and you can't afford to have no ice.
I have endured a 50 year career fighting refrigeration appliances.

Scotsman cm3 656 water will run but will not harvest unless I push the harvest button. Water will continue to run unless I turn it off. Could this be a bad well pump or a water level sensor gone bad?
If your Scotsman CM3 656 ice machine is not harvesting ice automatically and water continues to run unless you turn it off, there could be several possible causes. Here are a few things you can check:
- Check the water level sensor: The water level sensor is responsible for detecting the level of water in the sump and controlling the fill and harvest cycles. If the sensor is faulty, it could cause the ice machine to not harvest ice automatically. Check the sensor for any damage or debris, and clean or replace it if necessary.
- Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the ice machine. If the valve is stuck open, it could cause water to continue to run into the machine. Check the valve for any damage or debris, and replace it if necessary.
- Check the temperature sensors: The ice machine has temperature sensors that monitor the temperature of the evaporator plate and control the harvest cycle. If the sensors are faulty, it could cause the machine to not harvest ice automatically. Check the sensors for any damage or debris, and replace them if necessary.
- Check the control board: The control board is the brain of the ice machine and controls all of its functions. If the board is faulty, it could cause the machine to not harvest ice automatically or to continue to run water. Check the board for any damage or corrosion, and replace it if necessary.
It is unlikely that a bad well pump would cause these symptoms, as the water is still running into the machine. However, if you suspect there is an issue with your water supply, you should check your water pressure and flow rate to make sure they are within the manufacturer's recommended specifications.
My Scotsman SCCG30 won’t go into Harvest cycle. If I turn it off and turn it back on, it Harvests and then goes back to freeze cycle but still will not harvest.
Without more information it is hard to be precise. You can try the following:
- Clean the machine, including vacuuming the condensor coil (below) and running the cleaner through the water circulation system.
- Check functions which includes 1) fills the reservoir with adequate water, 2) cools the mold (water gets cold) and sprays water up into molds, 3) are both spray caps on and is the water spraying in a fine, circular pattern, 4) is the curtain intact and not allowing water to leak out of the reservoir and into the storage bin.
- If the water is getting cold and if the spray nozzles are working properly then there should be ice in the molds (you can feel with your fingers). Then the pump should shut off and the cooling system goes into harvest cycle. At this point a reversing valve (under the unit) causes the ice making mild to warm. Combined with the fresh water (refilling the reservoir) running over the mold and the warming mold, the cubes should release.
- Typical fill, freeze and harvest takes approx. 25-28 minutes.
Scotsman ice make no water light flashing
If the "no water" light on your Scotsman ice maker is flashing, it means that the ice maker is not receiving a sufficient supply of water. There could be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are a few things you could try:
- Check the water supply. Make sure that the water supply valve is turned on and that there is sufficient water pressure.
- Check the water inlet valve. The water inlet valve is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. If the valve is faulty or clogged, it may not be allowing enough water to flow into the ice maker.
- Check the water line. Make sure that the water line is not kinked or clogged.
- Check the water pump. If the water pump is not working properly, it may not be delivering enough water to the ice maker.
If these steps do not help, there may be a problem with the ice maker itself. In this case, you may need to have the ice maker repaired or replaced.
Evaporator very noisy
You will need to replace the bearings and make sure the auger has not been damaged. Are you seeing metal flakes in your ice?
