Proview monitor, model 900P, product PL913s. I have it hooked up to computer and to power source, but can't get monitor to turn on. Something more needed beside the "power" button on right?

  1. Check the power cable: Make sure the power cable is properly connected to the monitor and to the power source.
  2. Check the video cable: Make sure the video cable is properly connected to the computer and to the monitor.
  3. Check the computer settings: Make sure the computer is set to the correct display settings for the monitor. You can typically do this by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings."
  4. Check the power source: Make sure the power source is working and that there is no problem with the outlet or power cord.
  5. Check the power button: Make sure the power button on the right side of the monitor is not stuck and is functioning properly.
  6. Try a different cable or computer: If possible, try connecting the monitor to a different computer or cable to see if the issue is with the computer or cable.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the monitor itself

Monitor is blank

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

Usually the pin looks like a lap top power adapter cord and the slots are on the back side it could be a standard power cord that looks like a computer cord as well. It is there check the sides out as well look all over it is there. Look between where the stands upper mount underneath that area.

Please place a vote for me if I assisted you thanks for using FixYa! That monitor is your monitor picture. John

ENERGY SAver is stuck on

I know it's an older post, but you still may be waiting an answer:
What is probably happening is Your power board is failing to maintain power enough to run the bulbs and the rest.
That is why it takes long to start up and why it goes into sleep mode.
Does the power button stay lit (getting signal) or turn to amber (sleep mode) or does it flash.

"IF YOU HAVE THE ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN OFF PROBLEM, DONT REPLACE ANYTHING UNTILL YOU HAVE TRIED THIS" hey guys i have the 2second problem aswell but!, i was just about to throw mines away when i can stumbled across away how to get it working proper again and again and again!. ive seen lots of help pages like this where everyone is talkin about replacing parts, but if u screen flicks on and then off it should work with my quick fix. heres how and i hope it works for you. Boot up ur pc as u would usually and wait awhile untill you think everything has loaded up or has reached the logon stage. Then if you look carefully at ur screen and press the menu button you should be able to see it thery faintly (i shine a lamp at it to see better). Then i cycle through OSD (on screen disply) menu using the up or down buttons on my monitor untill i see the "AUTO" option. at this stage i press MENU button "2 times" Then i cycle through the OSD untill i see the "RESET" option and again i press the MENU button to confirm the reset. Then simply press the power button to switch it off and then back on....HEY PRESTO! it working again. I have told 11 people this fix and they all reported back that it works for them 2. this method should work every time aslong as you stiil can see the green LED on ur monitor.

Turn on the computer and

The simplest test would be to try another monitor. If it shuts off, the graphics card is overheating, or the PS in the computer, or the processor. If the result is that everything continues as it should, the original monitor is overheating or otherwise failing.

How do I fix a monitor

The age and much more power consumption and different dangerous places with high power ask for knowledge of focussing ,anode ,flyback (horizontal) and primairy rectification power on differend places , is not without danger , how to unload the display tube, and much more and in most case the line transformer flyback transistor and capacitor could be damaged. is not useful , a new monitor has more advantage and most of them are not to expensive to buy.
