Panasonic The Genius 1250 Watt microwave just stopped working. Seen some that said they got a code? How do I get a code?

If there is a fault it will be displayed. If the mains fuse has failrd you will get nothing. The most common fault code is H8 which means failed magnetron or supply.

Panasonic NN-T945SFX microwave shut off after about 3 secs. @ 100% power level, but will run fine @ 70% power level.

Overheating. I wonder if it has an internal cooling fan that has failed? It is dangerous inside the case so have it professionally serviced.

Panasonic Genius Prestige NN P2956F..replaced light bulb with 35 watt halogen capsule bulb (Philips Outdoor Security 120 V)...light won't turn off (original OEM bulb was 30 watt)

Strange, but it is drawing an extra 5 watts and it is electronically controlled. My guess is that you need a 30 watt bulb.

Bulb Replacement in Microwave

You have to take off the case. Need a T20 Tamper Torx bit and a Phillips #2 Bit. There are 2 tamper-torx screws on the case to discourage inquisitive types / prevent untrained hands from entering. Once the screws are out (5 in total), slide the cover off the back. On the right-hand side, you will see the electrics. The bulb is behind the black oval shaped fitting that lies just behind the 2 big red wires that carry the high voltage to the microwave tube. Just pry over the bend-down metal tab, and lift off the black oval, bulb is attached to it. Replace, re-install, and test with case off and door open to ensure your replacement works. Re-install the slip-off case and screws. You're done.

Panasonic microwave touchpad not working

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

You may instead have a failed keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs, which depends on the exact model, one of these:

Panasonic Sensor 1250W Microwave cycles off after only 5 seconds.

See if this describes what's happening:
  • Put in time, push start and unit runs for 2 seconds, relay clicks, unit goes off. Cook time on display goes off and clock time comes back. Bad upper interlock switch and charred connector.
If so, see http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt , http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt and http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt

Otherwise, if the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

That may be a loose connection in the wiring between the inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of those components has failed.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

The door release button is broken and came off. Need a new door release button

Don't order a new button. Here's what I did. I have had many issues with my Panasonic microwave ovens - the button more than once. I even ordered two new buttons from a reliable source and one of the boxes had the wrong button inside. Today, instead of ordering ANOTHER button, I fixed it simply with a bolt and washer. Precisely: the button is built with two hooks, two prongs, and a central "tube". I used a #10 phillips head machine screw (bolt) 1/2" - 3/4" long and a #8 washer (plus Loctite: optional). You need to open the washer's hole slightly to fit over the #10 bolt. Then simply put the button and spring on the bezel and install the bolt from the rear. The washer will trap the bolt in the bezel, but pass through the frame to operate the latch. panasonic button fix-undefined-undefined-0.jpg
