How do I replace oil drain tube?
It's easy, but greasy!
There are two black plastic securing bolts on the base (the one in the middle is longer than the other one, and you reach this by removing the screws on the base). These are fairly deep down and have an Allen key type head, so you need to sort out a suitable driver. The three at the back let you get to the securing bolt and two other Philips screws. Then the base lifts off. You can see the tube and if you pinch the clip you can pull it away from the Mattel drain and remove it. Took me about 30 minuted once I got the right tools.
My Delonghi Scultura kettle wont switch off automatically when the water is boiled.
Most self stopping kettles have a bi-metal piece, generally in the handle or top part, which, when boiling, gets one side of the metal to expand more than the other, causing it to bend and mechanically turn off the switch.
There are many causes that it can stop working- iron fatigue, corrosion, jammed switch etc that can make it stop working. In general, it wouldn't be financially worthwhile to repair it, however many people still use them when they stay in the room, since they still do a decent job of boiling the water quickly. Typically they have a safety, so the thermo-fuse will shut it before a fire starts- on your own risk.
It's usually not so expensive to get a new one, so I'd go for using it temporarily til I get around to getting a new one!
Just got 4 slice de longh iconai toaster and
I have no experience with the deLonghi toaster but in my experience automatic toaster all work in similar ways since they went electronic - toasters were about the first to do that.
Pressing the lever down against the spring pressure also presses an internal switch that sends current to the heating element as well as to the electronics that control an electromagnet, the purpose of which is to keep the mechanism engaged until the toast is brown enough and then the current to the magnet will be cut by the browning brain and the toast pops up.
If removing any crumbs from inside by inverting it and giving it a good shake and then pressing the lever a few times fairly vigorously doesn't make it work then nothing short of surgery will make it work so returning it will be the only realistic option.
