I have been storing data

The data is still on the disk but can you get it is the issue. If the logic board is still good and the drive is recognized by bios that it is do able. But if the drive is not recognized, you may need some recovery service. If you really want your data, don't format since that erases all and makes a recovery operation even more difficult and expensive. Bottom line - it is always prudent to have backups of backups for obvious reasons.. If this is an external drive remove it from the shell and connect it directly to computer. Might be the electronics in the shell that have gone bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, my macbook stopped reading

First determine if problem is with your macbook or the drive. Does the drive work on any other computers? If not, then the problem is either the drive or the Acomdata enclosure holding the drive. You'll need to get a usb HDD dock, extract the harddrive from your Acomdata drive and plug the drive into the HDD dock. If your mac is still unable to read the drive, the drive itself is probably not working anymore. If you're a novice and have never attempted data recovery before, I would recommend a data recovery service if it is important that you recover your files. If the the problem is with the drive, there may still be a good chance your files can be recovered but only if you know what you're doing. You don't want to run the risk of ruining that chance and attempt this yourself if you don't have the proper tools or knowledge.

My computer doesnt read the drive

The disk-drive has malfunctioned.

Search online for a professional "data recovery service".
For a significant fee, they can repair your disk-drive,
just long-enough to copy your files to a new disk-drive.

If it still has a valid WARRANTY, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

If the warranty has expired, then open the case, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "compatible" disk-drive, connect it, and thus "revive" your external storage device.

Clicking sound and will not

Hi!

I'm really sorry to tell you that the clicking sound means that the drive is mechanically dead!
If possible, have it replaced; If you want to rescue the data on it, take it to a special lab that's specialized in data recovery from faulty drives... Search the internet to find the nearest place to your house.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

Good luck and best regards,
Pelu.
