When you open the cassette door, there is a metal piece in the back that pushes the tape ajainst the head. If that is broken or bent, you can get low audio. Other possibilities are a dirty tape head or misaligned head.

I have a set of SUN-115H speakers that has a volume problem. When testing with DXDIAG, you can hear the sound but it is very faint even with the volume knob turned to full. Any ideas? ? ?

Is the power to the speakers correct? Since these are computer speakers, have you checked that the volume on the computer is turned up all the way? Have you tried the speakers on another computer or portable radio of something?

I can only hear a faint sound from the speakers even when all the volumes are turned up. Where can I go to look for the problem?

you might have to uninstall then reinstall either the driver or the sound devices
control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers or right click select properties to either troubleshoot, uninstall, rollback driver

Suddenly, I can only hear the sound faintly, even though it's turned up full volume on my Yamaha HTR 5560. What happened? I've played around everywhere with the converter now. Restore defaults anywhere?...

Have you checked the MUTE function?

NEVER turn the volume up more than half-way for any sound problem. Otherwise, if you suddenly find the switch that's out of position you could blow your speakers.

What converter?

What channels, what source(s)?

Amplifier will only put out "faint" music, etc, even when the volume is turned all the way up

This may sound silly, but please check to be sure that the tape monitor switch in not engaged. Update this if that is not the problem.
