My wifi sybol isn't comin on

Try resetting the Netgear and then configure it again.

To RESET the Netgear, power up the Netgear then press and hold the RESET button at the back of the router until all the LEDs flash. Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

My wireless signal is indicated, it DOES NOT light up, no icon recognition at the bottom right for a signal, BUT the wireless router works for the desktops , 2 with NO problem

Try resetting it to factory default setttings. Use a paperclip to hold the reset button down in the back for 30 seconds. It will come up as "NETGEAR" with no security when it resets. Try to connect to it and see if everything works that way first, then re-set everything up as far as security passwords for the network and all. If it worked as NETGEAR with no security but not after you set up security, something isn't compatible.
