My laptops mic is not working - ASUS M2N-E SLi Motherboard

You can try going into device manager and find the device and remove it then reboot and let it reinstall the mic drivers. If that does not work try going to the HP site and see if a new driver is available and install it. The mic could have gone bad and you may have to buy an external mic.

Your laptop has built in mic. This is why your mic is not work

If the mic is present, you can access speech recognition software to check if the MIC is working, to do so: Click Start> Control Panel> Ease Of Access> Speech Recognition Options

Right click on my computer, click properties, press hardware tab, then click device manager. Anything with a ? in yellow means the driver is not installed. Is it a mic thats mounted into the laptop? Or did you connect it? If you connected it, try changing mics and see if that works.

Good day, Hi, to test your laptop mic, open the sound recorder. 1. if you ar using XP, goto START, All Programs, Accessories, Entertaiment, Sound Recorder. If the sound recorder loads normally, press the red button, shout as load as you can, you will see sound waves on the recorder. 2. If the sound recorder does not loads, chances are your mic isn't working properly, Load the device Driver for your mic, you can find the driver on the CD that came with your laptop, if not you may need to go to the Internet to find the MIC driver. 3. If the driver is loaded on your laptop, chances are it may be defective, you have 2 options, 1. replace the mic on your laptop, which requires you to dismantel it, get the defective mic and replace it. 2. just get an external mic. hope this may help.

there are some ports in the front side of your laptop...try with one headphone with mic....please connect the ports with the cables of the headphone...

it may because of your windows XP is not installed properly.....or your MIC have some damage.Try to reinstall it again....or you might need some driver for your MIC.....are you using the embedded MIC or external MIC....?

My laptop model is compaq presario c754tu, I have installed Windows Vista Business, and the audio is working fine, but the internal mic and external microphone both work together........i want to mute the internal mic..... how i can do it ? please reply me on my email id i.e. [email protected]

OK ya have a bad connection problem, I think the wires that go between the case and screen may be damaged or loose? in any event ya gonna haveta take it to a repair shop :( The Mic problem MAY be inter-related.. however until ya fix the screen this is a moot point, no? The Mic problem is probably just an incompatibility problem... not aLL mic's work on all pc's even when they work on others.. Oh say try a USB mic they are great.
