I have a 2004 MPV4 hoveround. Its been in storage for about 3 years. I put new batteries in it but now I have 3 red lights and 5 yellow lights blinking. The horn is the only thing working. Any ideas other then replacing the controller and if I DO REPLACE WHAT ARE THE CHANCES SOMETHING ELSE IS BAD.

The battery charging connector, which may appear as the female connector of a stage-quality microphone, is underneith the Joystick control arm. An external charger should have been provided by the seller, so if you don;t have one, you'llhave to contact the chir manufacturer.

The Hoveround MPV-4 had 2 different types of battery connectors. The old type had threaded edges that you would plug in, then screw them tight. The new type has a release clip on one side. They switched from the old to the new because of continuity problems such as this. Which type of battery connector do you have?

This 8-light code is a joystick controller problem. It is an internal problem with the circuit board located inside the joystick. The entire joystick assembly would need to be replaced in this situation. If you are in need of a joystick, I have several for sale.
