I had genuine Windows 7, but all of a sudden my laptop started showing This Copy of Windows is not genuine. I sent my computer to be fixed for another issue, and they said they fixed this as well, however the problem came back again 2 weeks later.

SOURCE: The os windows vista (TM),Build 6000.the copy is not genuine

Hi

If it's saying that then am afraid its correct.
Windows has a program that can check the authenticity of its OS. But downt worry it wont harm your system. You might have accidently installed Windows genuine check program(while updating).
The only solution to stop receiving this message is to roll backthe installation.
You can do this by restoring your PC to an earlier date.

If you know how to restore and what will be its consequences then its ok and go for it but if you dont then please revert back, so I can tell you the steps to follow.

What do you do when in your laptop computer say the windows activation expire or windows is not genuine

You may need to ask a trustworth friend or trusted relative to help you perform the steps for Windows 7 to be fixed, assuming your copy is actually genuine and not simply a copy of someone else's code. Look at the steps before beginning.

Keep getting Win7 not genuine

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 7 and has a valid Certificate of Authenticity (COA) label attached with a valid licence key, then you should be able to go through the Windows Activation process and get your copy of Windows revalidated.

My operating system has stoped woking. its showing on the desktop that this copy of window is not genuine. i can not download any anti-virus.

The fact that you have a pirated version of Windows and your operating system has stopped working means you don't need any anti virus software.

If you want a free operating system there are many variants of Linux out there which are free!

This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation

If you purchased the computer with Windows XP Professional pre-installed from a computer-store, then the computer-store is guilty of "software piracy". Call Microsoft (1-800-R-U-LEGIT) and report the store for not selling you a "genuine" copy of Microsoft software.

If you have a brand-name computer (e.g., Dell, eMachines) purchased since 2001, it came with a genuine copy of Windows, and a decal (either on the side of a desktop computer, or on the bottom of a laptop) with a valid 25-character product-key.
Contact that manufacturer, and order a replacement set of the "System Restore" CD/DVD disks. Reinstall Windows using those disks and the product-key.

If you have a "bootleg" version of Windows, you need to follow the on-screen instructions to "get genuine", i.e., use your credit-card to purchase a valid product-key from MIcrosoft.

Or, purchase a Windows 7 Upgrade package from a computer-store, and install Windows 7.

My problem is to remove the genuine software from my computer because no backrounds are showing in my desktop

The "Windows Genuine Advantage" software on your computer has discovered that you are using a "counterfeit" version of Windows XP.

So, if you bought the computer from a computer-store, and they installed Windows, you can report them to Microsoft: call 1-800-R-U-LEGIT to report them as "software pirates".

Or, see: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/
for information on how to convert your copy into a "genuine" copy of Microsoft Windows.

Or, buy a retail copy of "Windows 7 Upgrade", and upgrade your Operating System from XP to the latest version.
