There's a small gray nub attached to the plastic above it. Slide the tube onto it and it should fix your problem.

When i take out the collection bucket there is a clear hose on the left side that goes up that is disconnected and leaks water on the floor not into the collection bucket

If you look at the gray plastic part at the top, there's this gray nub thing. Slide the tube onto that and your problem is solved.

My dehumidifier does not seem to be working properly. I can't find the manual to tell me what the settings should be. Would appreciate your help. It is a DeLonghi DE400P. Thanks Shirley

What is the specific problem? Is no water being collected by the dehumidifier or do you have another issue?

Make sure that the dehumidifier is in a room in the operating temperature range (at or above 44 degrees F). Make sure that the room door and windows are closed and that the room is not larger than 2200 square feet. Make sure that the collection bucket not full and is properly seated in the dehumidifier. Check and clean the air filter on the dehumidifier. (Vacuum the filter or rinse under running water three times. Then wait until dry to replace it in the dehumidifier.) Look at the coils of the dehumidifier. If you have ice on the coils, defrost the unit (turn off, unplug and wait for it to melt). If the ice reforms quickly, you may have a leak in the coolant system. Then the unit needs repair.

Next make sure that you have good air flow around the dehumidifier and that the desired humidity set point is lower than the humidity of the room.

Retrevo has the manual available: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Delonghi-DE400P-Heating-Cooling-and-Air-manual/id/19269bh037/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to download the PDF.

I hope this helps.

Can't find where to empty the water

I need to be clear on what you said. you "can't find where to empty the water." Meaning you have removed the water collection bucket and don't know where to empty it? If that's the case, emptying it in a bath tub, is the easiest way.

However, if you meant, you don't know how to remove the water collection tank. It's on the front of the unit, below the air intake louvers. It simply slides/pulls out of the dehumidifier, when you pull on the indented handles on both sides of the bucket.

To assist you further, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual to a Danby model similar to yours. You can download and print it for future reference.

I hope this helped you.

Pressure relief tube behind the collection tank ?? should it point up or down?? model DH 400P

Down. If it's pointing up ans was activated, water could go into parts of the unit, where it doesn't belong.

Just received tne unit with pump. There is a hose in the collection tray area that is connected at one end to the unit but not the other. After 1 hour of running, water was coming from that hose and not...

If you look above the tubing, there's a little gray nub/cone thing. Slide the tube onto that and it should fix the problem. If you're trying to use the pump instead of the collection bucket, there are good directions in the manual.

Water tank still gets full when connected to floor drain

Check the fitting where you connect the drain hose to. It may have a plastic seal that must be cleared out in order to use the hose drain. The plastic seal can be easily punched out.
