Onkyo TX-8522 Receiver Logo

I have an Onkyo TX-8522 stereo system. I am trying to connect my iphone to it so that i can play music there (both from Pandora and from my own music from itunes). I was wondering if this was actually possible and, if so, what would I have to do to get it working. Thanks.

Yes it is possible. Any audio device with an earphone out jack can be connected to a receiver by using the CD input or the AUX input jacks (white and red) on the receiver. All you need is an adapter cable with the stereo 3.5mm plug on the iPhone side and the 2 RCA connectors on the receiver side. You can get these for $2 or so at Amazon.com or at Radio Shack. Adjust the volume and select on the receiver, the input you used to connect and enjoy.

See above link for one example of the cable.

Hello, your receiver does not have a USB port that would support the adapter. Thank you, Onkyo USA

How do you connect a sub woofer to a Onkyo TX-8522?

Since it does not have a dedicated subwoofer pre-out, you would have to use the "TAPE" outputs. If your powered sub (I'm assuming your using a powered sub) has only one input, you could either just use the left tape out of the receiver, or use an rca splitter to convert the left and right to a single jack. (I'm not a fan of that method, though).

How can I connect my Onkyo TX-SR507 to a PC to play MP3 files

The easiest way is to use a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cord and connect the output of the sound card to an AUX input on the receiver. These cables are readily available and cheap. You shoul dhave 3 mini jacks on the back of the computer related to the sound card setup.

1) Audio input mic
2) Audio input line
3) Audio output line

Connect the receiver to the audio output line jack.

Onkyo TX-8522 stuck on standby

This is Not a real Fix, However it stops the problem!
Do not plug any power cords into the Receiver.  I have found that using the "switched or unswitched" plugs in the back cause the trouble.
