You probably have a sensor issues there are two one for the freezer one for the frig. Check your freezer temp it should be at 0 degress at manufactor setting. If the temp is below -10 you freezer sensor is bad. Otherwise your frig sensor is bad. CHECK FREEZER FIRST!!!

Refrigerator keeps getting colder and colder. I reset the temp every time I open it, but it goes back to being too cold. Is registering 24! GE Profile side by side with ice and water through the door.

Hi,

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for the plastic air deflector at the top rear of the refrigerator, As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control, which is now functioning properly.
Hoping that this will help to solve the problem...

Fridge is freezing

There are two things you need to make sure before you declare the fridge at fault. Firstly, make sure that fridge isn't overloaded with items and that any air vents aren't blocked. Give it room to circulate the inside air. That helps it to cool evenly/at all. Next, find the thermostat. This will most likely be inside the top of the door frame when you open the door on newer fridges, or somewhere along the back or side walls. There'll be a setting for the freezer, and a setting for the fridge. The knob might use letters, numbers, or an arrow that says COLDER. Set the knob to slightly warmer, then leave the fridge alone for 24 hours. I highly suggest putting a suitable-type thermometer in the fridge and adjust the temp until it's around 34-38 degrees F. Do NOT allow the fridge to become warmer than 40 degrees. Between 40 and 140 degrees F is the "danger zone" where microbes thrive in food and are much more likely to cause food poisoning. You must never let food sit in the danger zone for more than 4 hours.
If cleaning the fridge and adjusting the thermostat don't work, you'll definitely want to have a refrigeration professional take a look at the fridge. It may as simple as adding coolant or "freon".

Ge profile Ps27sgra refrigerator and freezef are

Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat2.gif (cold Control). It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually and will cause the fridge2.gif to get colder and freeze food. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge (it is the control that has wires, the other is the damper). Locate the thermostat and replace it. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

My fridge keeps freezing my food

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Vegetable and meat draws freezing everything temp@16 deg. f.

Turn your thermostat down. If all the rest of the food was even 45 degrees, it would be okay. The vetable and meat drawers will always be colder, so you set the level for the rest of the fridge at what is tolerable.

GE Profile Side by Side is getting too cold on the fridge side.

I have a GE refrigerator with the same problem of my food freezing in the refrigerator. I spoke to an appliance part person and they sold me a temperature sensor for 20 bucks. They said it would be located in the control panel, but I took the control panel off and can't find the sensor. I'm now looking on yahoo answers to find out where the sensor is located.
