I have a emachine desktop W3115. It lost the network adapter and does not recognize the internet. I bought a OPERATING SYSTEM DISC Dual Core Windows XP Media Center Edition but that did not fix the network adapter problem so I think I was sent the wrong recovery disc. How can I download the necessary Network Adapters when my computer does not connect to the internet.

If you still have the original eMachine software as your desktop, go to Start > system Recovery > Create my Drivers and Application CD disk.

This will create a CD that will contaon all the drivers for your eMachine.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

I can't find anyway to connect my Emachine W3115

The eMachines W3115

The system features 10/100Mbps integrated Ethernet support for local area networking and a 56K ITU V.92-ready modem and fax port.

Select your "Start" menu from the desktop, right-click on "My Computer" before selecting "Properties." Select "Hardware" menu once the Properties menu pops up, and click your "Device Manager" menu.

Look for something marked as 802.11b/g WLAN. If you see it, this means you are using the right hardware for connecting your wireless router.

Go back to your "Start" menu, select "Control Panel" and go to "Network Connections." Continue by right-clicking on the icon for "Wireless Network" and selecting "Properties."

You should see three tabs for the window for Wireless Network Connection Properties. Choose "Internet Protocol" before clicking on "Properties," allowing you to connect to a network.

Click "Start," before going to "Control Panel," and finally to "Network Connections."

Right-click on the icon for "Wireless Network" while you are in the Network Connections window, and choose "Repair."

This will end your connection with your present wireless network and attempt to reestablish a stronger network connection.

Reboot your laptop to fix the wireless Internet connection problem if none of the previous steps works. Click on the "Start" button on your desktop and select "Restart."

Wait for about 15 to 30 minutes to observe if the wireless connection problem has improved
Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios. Restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to integrated peripherals

look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter make sure its enabled.
then recheck the driveri t should be there
k the driver it should be there
make sure its enabledPci device arrows key scroll to nstalled
if you computer came with a motherboard disk the driver could be on it
or this disk provided by your ISP provider Internet Service Provider

or you might have to download one

http://download.cnet.com/wireless-atheros-ar5b91-7/3000-2112_4-202570.html

http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-RTL8139-Family-PCI-Fast-Ethernet-NIC/3000-2112_4-91313.html

if these packages are not the right

http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html
on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for
tick in either windows software or the all software box
eg: motherboard name wireless or ethernet driver
you might have to try a few times to get it right

Hope this helps.

My emachine w3115 comes on but, will not display anything on the desktop. can not do a reboot on it and it wont run any disk . all i have is a background picture,

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL - the Task Manager should appear. If it does then click File, New Task (Run) and type explorer then hit enter, it should return to normal.
If the Task Manager doesn't appears or Explorer doesn't starts then the system is severely corrupted, you will have to reinstall Windows using the recovery cd.

Visit the eMachines website, put in your model number: T6536 and then choose Windows XP 32 bit, and download the sound driver:
http://www.emachines.com/ec/en/US/content/drivers.html

Even though you indicate that you have a 64 bit version of Windows XP, the 32 bit driver should work for the sound.
