First is the lamp light on, if so replace the lamp with a a OEM lamp from Mitsubishi and only Mitsubishi. if lamp light not on the chassis in these sets have been going bad and my need to be sent off for repair. if you could push the menu and device/input button it will give you what is called a 2 blinks code ect.22 34 46 32 something like that.

I have a 40 but i was having the same problem. It turned out to be my lamp. I got a brand new lamp from Projector Lamp Services (relampit.com) and my tv works fine now. Im pretty sure that the 40 and the 60 take the same lamp. You might want to give them a call.

Hi if its a Lcd or Dlp rptv most likely its time to replace the lamp if tv is between 2-4 yrs.If you hear clicking it could be the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Make sure fans are running ok ,dust them out if they are dirty.God bless you!
