Toggle icons not appearing

If you are in the Keyboard mode ... i.e., your iPad’s keyboard is showing on-screen, you shield see a button (icon) in the lower right corner that looks like a keyboard. Tap the icon. Your on-screen keyboard should disappear (toggle Off).

In the default camera app the Switch Camera icon appears on the right (portrait) or top (landscape) of the screen. In my version of Android it looks like a camera over an arrow disc, but in older versions looks like an old style camera with a circular arrow where the lens would be. Tap it and your view should toggle between front and back

Here's how to get rid of it!
First,
go to settings and tap on "display".

Then, tap on "advanced".

Next, tap on "display rotation".

Finally, disable the "display rotation" toggle.

That's it! The screen orientation icon should no longer appear in the notification bar.

The "sad" iPod icon usually indicated that the iPod is having trouble connecting with a computer. This is, in most cases, not a serious issue and can be resolved with a few easy procedures. In most cases the data on the iPod is intact, even if the sad icon was displayed.

Verify the iPod has a charge. If in doubt, allow it to charge for 30 to 60 minutes. Do not remove charging cable. Toggle the Hold switch to the Hold position and back. Then press both the center (Select) button and the Menu (upper part of wheel) for up to 10 seconds. Release the Select and Menu buttons when the Apple logo appears, and quickly simultaneously press the Select and Play/Pause (bottom of the wheel) button. Switch from the electrical plug to a computer connection (if necessary) when the Disk Mode screen appears. The screen should change to the normal "Do Not Disconnect" update screen. Contact Apple about finding a repair service if the iPod will not go into Disk Mode.

Enable the wireless network card on the laptop.

Some laptops use a physical switch on the front or side of the computer to enable and disable the wireless card.

Most newer laptops use a software switch that can be toggled with a couple of keys on the keyboard.

The most common software switch toggle is by pressing the "Fn" key and "F2" at the same times.

Click the wireless icon by the clock in the lower-right corner.

Click on an available wireless hotspot.

Stronger signals are represented with more and longer bars.

Click the "Connect" button.

Enter a password, if required.

Click on Home, Work or Public when the dialog box appears.

Each of these three options represents different security levels.

When connecting to a public Wi-Fi hotspot, always select "Public."

reset it then plug it in it usually work for me to reset there are 2 ways
1) toggle "hold" switch on off three times making sure hold switch is off the press n hold down menu and center button from 3 to 10 seconds or untill apple logo appears
2) same as above but without toggling hold switch
press and hold menu and center button till apple logo ppears then plug in cable to ipod and then in to ur computer

Okay. Easiest possible fix would be to download Tinkertool. On the Finder part, there's a button that says Disable Desktop Features. Toggle this on, reset Finder, and then off, reset Finder again. This may very well reset your icons so that they now appear. Do all of this from within the administrator account, if you can.

unplug it for about a half hour and if it has an internal battery remove it at the same time.... that should reset it back to factory settings

First, toggle the hold switch. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button until the apple logo appears on the screen.

My 2 GB nano shows the lock icon no matter how many times I toggle the hold switch on and off and press the Menu/Select buttons. I've recharged and restored it any number of times with no luck. Computer recognizes it when I plug it in but once I unplug it, none of the buttons work. When it's plugged in and fully updated, it shows the languages menu. I'll be eternally grateful to anyone who can offer any assistance!
