Canon PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera Logo
Posted on May 06, 2011

I am using this camera from last 3 years. It was working fine. Suddenly, a problem occurred. Now whenever I select the Auto mode, it is set to video option instead of still image. I have formatted the card, replaced the batteries, reset the setting, re-inserted the memory cells, but nothing happened. Please suggest me the solution for my problem.

I'm have the exact same problem. Purchased the camera 3.5 years ago. Recently needed to shoot a video, when finished I set the camera back to Auto and it stayed in video. Portrait mode shows manual, all other modes work as assigned. I've noticed at least TWO other posters having the same problem within the last couple of months. It's as though this camera (mfg. 2007) has a Trojan program from the factory to make us buy newer models.

Other than resetting, is there a way to flush and reload the firmware?

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 Digital Camera suddenly flash is not working

The flash may be broken.
If not these are the flash settings on the camera in case a different flash mode has been set accidently.

Set the mode dial to [camera icon], and press [up arrow] on the control button repeatedly to select a flash mode.

The flash mode has the following features.
No indicator (Auto):
The camera decides to use the flash based on lighting
conditions. The flash will be used when
there is not enough light or when shooting a
subject against a light source.

(Forced flash):
The flash will be used regardless of the amount of ambient light.

(Slow synchro):
The flash will be used regardless of the amount of ambient
light. In this mode, the shutter speed is
slower under dark conditions, so you can
clearly shoot a background that is out of the flash-lit area.

(No flash):
The flash will not be used.

Flash not working

Assuming that you haven't put the camera into a mode in which flash is disabled, either the charging capacitor or flash bulb is defective. It will have to be serviced so the appropriate part can be replaced.

9.1 megapixels are missing

In which mode is this, sounds like you're in one of the "scene modes"
when in normal mode, or in "Intelligent Auto" mode you should be
able to select all megapixel modes. (9Mp is only available in 4:3 mode)

Very bad service

Hello, you probably set the resolution low. In auto mode push set and select normal, fine,or superfine. Push down and select either L, M1, or M2. To change video back click set and select standard. Please rate my answer. I hope this helps!

Pictures are too dark or too bright with Sony DSC-P200 Camera

U have an electronics issue with the circuitry controlling the light levels reaching inside. Have you tried using manual settings? Repair on those units is expensive and it may bot be a cost effective repair situation.
