Don't buy Dell TV's. I have been fighting this problem for years.
A royal pain. Now there is no red in the picture. All blue and beige.
My solution? New TV and ABSOLUTELY NO DELL!!!
Have any of you tried calling Dell about this problem? As of last year they were doing an express exchange of the TV's with new 32" units even if the warranty was expired. It's probably worth a call.
Lacking a warranty replacement unit, the problem is a symptom of a faulty power inverter which is reasonably easy to replace using a few simple tools. You can find parts suppliers on the web. One even has a limited set of directions. Good luck.
That happens occasionally with my W3000 also. I just pull the plug, count to ten and then it works for another few months.

W3000 NO POWER
I thought the problem was my universal remote but I now realize it is the TV! Thanks for the posting. the problem is I can't get the service tag # as the TV is mounted to the wall and I bought it 3 years ago.
Any ideas?

Usually won't power up first time. Very random. Sometimes you must cycle between off/on 6 or more times and finally the screen lights up
