Hi, There. You should try to reset the router. There's a small hole in the back that you must press with a needle or something similar for about 30 seconds. After all lights turn off and back on, your password should be the factory's original, usually Admin as username and no password.

Good Luck!

I need to secure my wireless connection network. I have a iMac computer an a Dlink WBR 1310. How do I configure a Password to prevent intruders from using my connection?

First you will need to find the local IP address of your router. It should look something like "192.168.0.1" You might be able to find it in either your router manual or on the bottom of the router itself.
Then make sure your computer is connected to the router via wireless or ethernet cable.
Next, open your browser and type in the IP address into the address bar. It should take you to a setup page that looks a lot like a website. Find the "wireless security" tab and select a security protocol. I recommend using either WPA or WPA2. Now you can set a password. Finally, there should be "save" button on the page. Click it, then wait for your router to reboot and your network is now secure.

D-LINK router setup issue: We originally started with a DSL modem that was setup by the provider. We later added a wireless router and have been using it with one computer. Now we are trying to use...

A way to get around this issue is to do a static ip address for the other devices in your home. You'd have to connect to the router and set it up, i believe its by MAC address and you assign the IP.

How do I password protect my WBR-1310 for my iMac?

First you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and lookup for the options to do the following: -
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and the password password.)
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)

Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Settings" 2.Under "Security Options", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Apply

Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.

Hope this Helps!

When trying to connect to my wireless modem it can't get an ip ad

Is it a modem or a router ?
If it is only modem then only 1 computer will go online at a time. If you have any other computer online already then the second computer will not go online and it will not get IP address.

If it is a combination of modem and router OR if it router then you can open the set up page of the device and find out the password.
For this you will need a computer connected to the device.
Check the IP address and open the set up.

I cannot make changes to my WBR-1310 D-Link router. I cannot get 192.168.0.1 to go to the site. Keeps going to google

When you first setup a wireless router you need to connect the wireless router to the computer with a LAN cable.
Then you open a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and on the address bar you type the IP configuration address of the wireless router eg. http://192.168.0.1
Enter the default login name = admin and the password is left blank.
You should change the password and you should setup WAP or WAP2 encryption and change the SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
For further wireless protection enable MAC address filtering. The MAC address of the wireless card is entered in the router MAC address filter table, which allows only the wireless card with this MAC address to connect to the router.
The wireless card on the computer needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings. The LAN cable can be removed and the computer communicates wirelessly with the router.

Low id with dlink wbr 1310 usuing emule

Short answer? hmmmm

To successfully use port forwarding you must know the IP address of the computer on the INSIDE of your network BUT
your router is most likely using DHCP. This means your internal IP address isn't necessarily static. The "D" in DHCP is for dynamic.

First you need to ensure the the inside IP address of your machine isn't going to change. This can be accomplished 2 ways. 1) assign a static IP to your machine 2) Force specific DHCP IP address assignments by MAC (Hardware) address of your network port - this is the easiest way. Your router does NOT support this option (according to the manual) :-(

So #1 it is...

1) Your router defaults to allocate ALL inside address to DHCP - This will have to change. Alot of routers only use a subset of your internal range (eg: 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.150.) Yours will too!

Determine how many addresses you wish to reserve for DHCP (for a house 50 should be more than enough). Figure out the range (say 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.150.)

Also find out the DNS (Domain Name Servers) of your ISP, as you'll be needing them later.

Log into your router and go to Network settings / setup (pages 26 & 27 in the manual) make the changes and restart your router (and computer) you will now be using a DHCP address in the range you just specified! :-)

Now you will need to go to your network settings on your computer and change you r network setting from DHCP to manual. Enter a IP address such as 192.168.0.10, and your gateway (eg: 192.168.0.1) and your DNS server information that you got earlier.

Now restart your computer to make the changes take effect. We could do something from the command line but I'm trying to keep this short ;-)

If everything is working and you can use the web, check email etc. and your network settings show you are using the manual address you assigned. If you don't have internet review your earlier work (especially the DNS servers) you can always change your computer to use DHCP until your get it resolved.

Congrats most of the tough work is done!

Now you will be using the port forwarding option (Page 28 in your manual) to assign which incoming ports to map to your IP address

Rather than regurgitate other peoples work... see:
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/WBR-1310/eMule.htm

I hope this was helpful!

Dlink WBR 2310 cannot connec to internet

Try to bypass the router and connect to your modem. Make sure you have Internet connection.
>If you have Internet connection. connect back your modem to the router.
>access the configuration page of your router.
>If you are given a specific IP by your Internet Service Provider, use that one.
>Login to your Dlink (type in on the address bar 192.168.0.1)
>Click Setup and Internet > Click on Manual Configure
>My Internet connection would be Static IP
>Type in your IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary and Alternate DNS
>Click on Save Setting on top.

but if your Internet Service Provider did not provide you those informations
> Under My Internet connection Type choose DYNAMIC IP
>Click on Clone Your PC MAC address
>Click on Save Settings
>If it ask you to reboot, click on Reboot.

>At the very top click on Status
>Under Status look for WAN
>Under WAN look for IP address
>If you have values beside from zero it means you have Internet connection otherwise, call your dlink manufacturer for manual configuring your router for Internet connection.
