Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Backup>enter This will bring up the Backup/Restore Wizard.which you will choose Backup. In the next window you have options as what to backup. Make your choice and go to next window. Next window is where you choose where to backup and you will then pick your Iomega HDD 80 gb USB external hard drive. Click on next. Good Luck!!

You will have to install your backup drive then navigate just like you did to make the backup except you will choose "restore" from the wizard. Remember to choose backup from your iomega drive. Hopefully you will never need the second solution

Iomega isn't recognized on computer. Blue light is flashing on unit as well.

Is this a Windows compute? In case it is, there can be a number of causes, USB, conflicting driver letters, etc. Have a look on this article about how to troubleshoot such problems:

Need to download software for this ext. hd. Looked on iomega site, but couldn't find...any ideas? thanks, mb

That's because there is no software for it. It's a mass storage device and should be seen by your computer as such.

Connecting a esata port to a sate external hard drive

I don't think there is a converter from USB to ESATA, but you could buy a new Hard Drive enclosure that has those options, but I am not sure if you are willing to take out the HD from the existing one.
