Hello I am looking for the manual for this rice cooker. I have never owned a rice coooker before so I need to start with the basics. It is a B&D Model #rc3406 type 1. Thank you!

I ran into the same problem locating this manual. Black and Decker has the manual for the 3 cup on their site but not the 6 cup. I did find a manual for the Rival brand version which appears to be the same thing. You can find it at the URL

not sure about that measuring cup thing. just use 1 part rice to 2 parts liquid and you'll be fine

Since a steamer is a steamer, try the following suggestions:

White rice: 1 cup to 2 cups water for 45-50 minutes.
Brown rice: 1 cup to 1.5 cups water for 45-50 minutes.
