Internal memory

Information is not clear; however, if you mean to clear contents (photos, movies) from the internal memory, try the following.
1. Switch off, remove the SD card, re-start the camera.
2. Switch to playback mode; there you will find the photos/ videos stored in the internal memory. Manipulation of those media is normal.

I took some photos on my camera and cannot find them on the memory disc. Are they on an internal drive? How can I access them and get them on the memory card or on my computer? What setting should I have...

The settings you need to to do is to choose the storage mode to "Auto" or memory card (looks like you have it set to internal).

  • For the Auto it will use the internal then switch to the memory card when the internal is full
  • For the memory everything goes straight to the memory card.

Good luck and let me know of the outcome

I took pictures on my camera without a memory card can i still download my pictures

I'm glad to provide the steps to transfer images from Internal Memory of the Camera. When the camera does not have a memory card in it, the images are saved by default to the camera's internal memory, which holds different amounts of images based on how many megapixels are built into the internal memory and what image quality and compression are selected in the camera's menu. Once a memory\picture card is inserted in the camera, the camera then saves the photos to the memory\picture card and ignores the internal memory.

There are two ways to transfer the images from the internal memory.

  • To transfer photos to a computer from the internal memory using the USB cable, first remove the memory card from the camera. Then, when the camera is connected, the computer and software will only see what is in the internal memory and transfer those photos or videos. During the transfer process, the computer makes copies of the photos and videos-the original images remain in the internal memory. After the transfer is complete and the camera is safely disconnected from the computer, the contents of the internal memory can be deleted by using the MEMORY FORMAT function in the SETUP menu in the camera's menus.

  • The other way to transfer photos from the internal memory is to transfer them to the memory\picture card using the BACKUP function in the SETUP menu. If there is no memory\picture card in the camera, the BACKUP function is grayed-out. During BACKUP, copies of the images are transferred to the memory\picture card-the original images remain in the internal memory. After the BACKUP is complete, the internal memory can be cleared by removing the memory\picture card and formatting the internal memory using the MEMORY FORMAT function in the SETUP menu in the camera's menus.

Note: When the camera is connected to a computer using the USB cable with a memory\picture card in the memory\picture card slot, the computer will only see the contents of the memory\picture card.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any additional help.

Memory card filled and I took more pictures. Seemed to put those on the internal memory. What happened too or how can I recover the memory card pictures?

Probably one of two solutions.
First, the memory card should have all the pictures intact. If you are using the camera to review, you may need to just keep going back until the memory card photos show.
Another possibility is that the internal memory supersedes viewing the card memories. You may have to run a USB cable to your computer, download the internal memory photos, and then you can possibly see (on the camera) the memory card photos. It might be a good idea to download those photos to your computer too, if the computer has a memory card slot. Otherwise you will have to go through them and download via the USB again. Once you know the photos are saved, you can either change cards with a new one , or clear the old card and start again.
Good Luck

I TOOK SOME PHOTOS WITH THE CANON POWER SHOT A530 (ABOUT FIVE). I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO VIEW THE INTERNAL MEMORY PHOTOS. ALSO CAN I HAVE THEM SWITCHED TO THE SD CARD? I DID'NT KNOW AT THE TIME THE CARD WAS...

First, promise to never use the internal memory again. Go into the menu and there should be an entry for "copy" which should allow you to copy the internal memory to a memory card. After that, you should "format" the camera with no card inserted to erase the internal memory.

I am getting a blank screen and a message that says internal memory full. But I took all the photos off the camera and downloaded them to my computer.

OK, you can switch to your memory card's memory if you have one installed. The Internal memory is sparse and small compared to say a 2 gigabyte memory card.

Also, delete the internal memory pictures if you're set on using that type of memory.

Just put 2gb sd card in my camera. don't know how to switch from internal memory to card. Keep getting internal memory full message.

on a kodak you can also copy your internal photos to card-go to menu and find menu highlight that says storage or something like that and change setting to use card first-when the camera has a card in it it will usuallt default to card first

MEMORY FULL

Talking about the Camera only here Check the manual for internal memory use. Put the memory card in. Use the menu button to switch between internal and card If your computer is XP you do not actually need any software to read the camera. Check the manual re this
