Hey guys....our kitchenaid microwave will shut off automatically about 5 sec after pushing "add minute".....beeps with a morse code like pattern, then magically turns back on. Tonight....same thing happened, but instead of turning back on - the display showed a little man jumping around with the words "no main"..... I had to unplug for a few minutes - then it worked again when I plugged it back in. What's going on???
It sounds like you may have a loose fuse holder or an intermittent part such as one of the thermostats, such as the one mounted on the magnetron.
One thing to try is to cook on the lowest power setting or defrost to see if it runs longer or fails more quickly.

microwave shows 2 small leds that cycle in downwards pattern - otherwise there is no display - when door is opened the oven light is off, then will turn on - buttons do not work. once door is shut, the microwave will turn on and the carosel will turn for approx 5 seconds - then shut off; it appears that when it does turn on that it generates no microwaves. I can not find manual - any thoughts?
