If you have connected the TV to the computer with a VGA cable, what resolution was your previous monitor using? You may need to change the resolution or refresh rate with your regular monitor attached. This TV has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 .

If you are connected via one of the HDMI ports, check the specifications for your TV. Then try using the VGA output. Not all TVs support a computer signal over HDMI. Unfortunately, I can't find the LC320ss8 at the Sylvania Support site: http://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics.com/ . If the model number has an error, click on Downloads and enter the correct model number.

I hope this helps.

Hi my Sylvania LC320SS8 32 in LCD screen just turned all white with no picture, tv still has sound. The unit is only 2 years old. Is this the service life of the unit or what??

HI,
AS mentioned its sounds like the T con board of the TV is faulty. T con board is one which drives the LCD pixels. You can find this board on the bottom center of the TV covered by metal cover or aluminum foil. Replace this board will solve the problem. Its part number is BUF320G0401. I have found the same in ebay. But i am not sure is it working piece or not. Any way i have added the link.

Yesterday and everytime i plug the monitor cable to the back of my sylvania tv it works but today it says format not supported

you have the refresh rate or the screen resolution set to a size not supported by the tv, change it to 800 x 600 and try it. If it works increase it till you reach the maximum that the tv can show

Can i hook my computer to tv ?

Hello

You can connect your Sylvania LC320ss8 to a computer. There is a socket at the back of your TV to connect it with a PC via VGA cable. One end of that cable must be connected to TV, and the other end of the VGA cable must be connected to PC's monitor out jack.. You have to purchase on VGA cable for this purpose, and is available at most of the electronic spare part shops. A "mini-plug audio cable" also is needed to connect the audio from PC to TV. Its one end to be connected to PCs Audio Line Out jack and its other end to TVs PC in audio jack. Both Jacks can be located at the back side of the TV. After connecting it select the TV to receive PC signals according to its manual says. OK.

I need the code!!!

Here's one web place I found for you.
http://remotecodelist.com/remotes/radio_shack/four_in_one.html

If the Sylvania code doesn't work, try Funai and Emerson codes. Same TV company.

Sylvania 42" LC370SS8

Your TV monitor cannot support the format (scan rate) that your computer's display card is putting out. Go in to the computer's set-up for the resolution under the display properties and adjust the settings to support the TV monitor. Refer to the TV's instruction manual to see the supported formats.

When going back to the computer's display, the display format will have to be changed back to have the proper resolution.

TV sets are generaly not as good as dedicated computer monitors for use on computers.
