My JVC camcorder has somehow locked itself into a very high zoom setting. Regardles of which zoom setting I select, it stays zoomed in very close to any subject matter with very little variance. The indicator bar shows the zoom moving from 1 to 32x (or 64x) but it simplys takes the upclose subject and the screen goes blurry and then back to in focus. NO in or out zoom. Is there another way other than the Preset function to reset it's zoom capabilities. Naturally, I am about a month passed warranty!!

Try removing the battery and see if it changes back to the default settings.

My Jvc hdd is stuck in high zoom mode. It says that it is at 1x but the picture is not focusing
