Screen has green tint, it is an LCD 42 inch

First of all, that is not an LCD tv. It is DLP, which is a common mistake because the picture is very similar. DLP tv's use a high-power lamp that reflects light off of thousands of tiny mirrors into a spinning color wheel which gives the reflections color. Each little mirror is one pixel, which can be any color depending on the hole that it goes through on the color wheel. The color wheel may be spinning slower than normal, which could make all of the light go through the green filter on the color wheel, and give your screen a green tint. Have a trusted mechanic take your tv apart and dust the inside. If that doesn't fix it, you may need a new color wheel or bearings for it (that help it spin). You should not pay more than $200 for a bearing replacement on this tv.

Thanks for asking.

I own a toshiba 62hmx85 tv and had a frequent humming sound coming from the tv, technicians told me over the phone that it could be the color wheel going, soon after that the tv stopped working and all i...

The color wheel on this set is not available. First thing I would do is replace the lamp. MCM electronics has a Philips for $99.00. The hum could have been the lamp fan which is common on these sets. There is a kit from Hitachi the includes some rubber dampers. What I commonly see on these sets is when the lighr engine is going bad(this is where the color wheel is) the color gets a green, bue or yellow tint and trhe picture may get dim. its rare that the color wheel stops working on this model. Call adifferent tech for sevice. Anyone with experience on these sets will know whats up.

Samsug rear projection tv, everything looks green

Dust accumulation in color wheel, light tunnel, chip area can cause green tint.

It is very delicate area, light tunnel and chip can be easily damaged. Remove light engine assembly and color wheel. Blow dust out. Re-assemble. If the gasket around the color wheel housing is not replaced in the right position, or the housing screws not tightened correctly dust will contaminate the color wheel/light tunnel area.

Call someone that has done it a few times. If near Calgary, call me.

Green tint

Is the green color on displays as well. (Displays means the video generated by changing the volume or activating menu-and seeing if this is green as well. Secondly, turn the color all the way down to zero. Do you see a "normal" black and white picture? If you do, then the picture tubes are not the problem and you have a failure in the color processing area. Let me know....

Hitachi 52 projection tv

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.
