I have the LC-26D4U Sharp Aquos model tv. Everything has worked fine for the 18 months or so that I've had it but now it seems as if something is internally wrong with the speaker connection. When the TV first turns on I hear a popping sound come from the right speaker. The first time this happened I turned the TV on and off a few times and the problem fixed itself. Since then, however, I hear that popping sound (just from the right speaker) and I get no sound. When the sound did work, both the left and right speaker worked fine and I still only heard the popping sound from the right speaker. I have tried different connections (HDMI, component, regular video/audio cables) and still nothing. It is certainly something internal that is the problem and I was wondering if you have heard of this problem before and know of a solution or advice. I am out of warranty and do not want to pay a few hundred if this is something I can easily fix myself.
Thanks for any help.
Sharpe Aquos LC 26 D43U
Volume is fine watching TV but is supressed when input comes from DVD, have tried several different DVD players and cannot get volume loud enough through either DVD or TV volume controls.
Got exactly the same problem ^"Guest"^ with same tv, i was playing on xbox 360 too:P
im thinking about soldering over the connection, as it says above the resistor supresses the current so im hoping that keeping the sound at a very low level should besweet
Well, apparently this is a huge problem with many flat screen TV's. They surpress the volume output from all external sources (like DVD players) so you don't blow up their tiny speakers. They just expect you to add on a home theatre system to boost the volume their small speakers cannot handle. This is a real problem if you are in a boat or RV and do no have the space or electrical capacity to do this. I had the TV checked out and Sharpe said it met their factory standards so there was no help there. We have had to go with a small amp & speakers just to hear the TV & DVD movies etc. They need to put better quality speakers in these TVs. The video is awesome, now work on the audio guys!
I have an LG 26 LC and i was playing on my xbox when the sound blew and the smell of TCP came from the TV, i turned it off and on and no sound.
after taking the back off the circuit board on the top right was covered in sut and black marks where a resistor had blown. i have no clue what to do???
it happened like 20 mins ago and im trying to fiund out what i should do! :S helps
You want me to tell you how I fixed it for free, but you don't want to help me for free. What's with that?
