Have a GE profile dryer...DPSE810EG6WT.......when I push the start button it just beeps and than the lights go out on the time

Press and hold for 3 seconds the "Control Lock/Unlock" button on the control panel to lock the control panel.
Listen for a double beep and observe the "Control Lock" status light is lit when the control lock is in effect.

That generally means the door is open. Assuming you have the door closed I would investigate the switch that tells the dryer the door is open. It may be bad.
if that beeps on it's own and lights come on most likely when this happens it's the computer board,i've seen them start up just sitting there it will beep and then turn on.
