How do i set up my voicemail...manual not explaining ...please list steps ....

Once you call your voicemail service, you'll be taken thru step by step instructions to set up your voicemail.
To call your voicemail service

1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Touch and hold down 1.

If this does not work, you need to set up your voicemail number. Your subscription includes an answering service, callers can leave a voicemail message when you cannot answer a call. Usually, the voicemail number is saved on the SIM card. If not, contact your service provider to get your voicemail number. You can then enter the number manually.
To enter your voicemail number

1. From the Home screen, tap .
2. Find and tap Settings > Call settings > Voicemail settings.
3. Enter your voicemail number.
4. Tap OK.
   

How do i set up and record my own voicemail message when i am unable to answer my phone. I have a sony Errisson xperia x8?

How do I delete voicemail messages and the icon notifying me I have a messages on the xperia x8.

The common access code for voicemail is *80 or dialing your own number from it, if neither works, please request the access number to your cellular phone carrier, if it works you should hear a voice menu that will lead you to setting your voicemail, i.e. press zero to set up your mailbox.
