My mitsubishi 65in tv has a lot of small white dots on the screen what causes this?

projection tvs can display white dots from the dust that is on the reflector mirror your lamp shines the picture on before it is reflected onto the front screen of your tv, one must be very careful when cleaning this, may be worth a service man doing it for you

How do you clean the dust out of the projector, there are particles that look like small white stars on the black areas and black stars on the white areas. Is this dust?

If you focus the image on a screen up close to the projector and notice small rectangular black and white spots, then you have pixel failures.

The link to the article explains the the cause of the white syndrome none of the previous internet experts have a correct solution. This is a common problem for plasma televisions.There is one part that needs replacing but you should replace both.

White dots all over my 46 inch samsung projection tv. it looks like stars in the sky on my tv.

this a typical dlp ic failure. this device has 1 million moving mirrors and some of them are stuck. the ic will need to be replaced it will keep getting worse

Place a white piece of paper about 1000mm in front of the screen and focus the image sharply.
Choose menu, image, advanced then select color manager.
go through the color options and check if some pixels are permanently on or off (ie small dots or black) instead of a uniform colour on the screen.

The DLP chip is most likely the faulty component

I also Believe most of times the DLP chip will is the problem. Because you saying "Like sky with starts."
It means when you look very closed clear focused on paper. You can see Blinking Pixels.
If "Yes" Most of time DLP is bad now... I had some DLP chips on my store... If you give me the exact model of your Projector I may can send you one...
